Because it's common for roundworms to be transmitted from a mother to her puppies, it's primarily a concern for puppies. While some dogs don't show symptoms with roundworms, you may notice symptoms including vomiting, diarrhea, belly pain, a potbellied appearance, weight loss, and a dull coat.
If left untreated, worms can damage your dog's internal organs and lead to loss of consciousness and death. If you suspect that your dog has worms, take it to your nearest veterinary office. Most intestinal worms are easy to treat and your veterinarian will prescribe a medication based on the diagnosis.

Roundworms* and hookworms develop from eggs into larvae (immature worms). The larvae later grow into adult worms. Most pets show no signs of infection with these worms, but some may vomit, stop eating their food, or lose weight. Heavy infections in young puppies and kittens may lead to death.

Apple cider vinegar can be effective at killing worms in your dog. Unlike other vinegars, it increases the alkaline levels in your dog's intestines. That discourages parasites and worms. When your dog eats a high fibre diet, they get swept from his system in his poop.
Additionally, you may see dead worms in your dog's stool for a few days following treatment, or your dog may have diarrhea as they digest the dead worms. Most of the time, regardless of what you see in their stool, recently dewormed dogs behave like normal.

These work as an effective deworming agent as they contain cucurbitacin, an amino acid. It paralyzes the worms, which makes it easier to eliminate them from the intestine. You can feed the pumpkin seeds as a treat or grind them to mix them in your dog's food. One teaspoon per 10 lbs is sufficient enough.
After deworming, it is important to hold the animals in quarantine for at least three days to allow the worms present at the time of drenching to leave the gut. Doing a fecal egg count 10 to 14 days after quarantine drenching will give proof that the treatment was effective.
Some puppies experience lethargy and diarrhea after receiving deworming medication. This is a normal side effect and will last between 24-48 hours after the deworming treatment.

Along with being able to get rid of both roundworms and whipworms. It works best when given as a tincture which can be bought relatively cheaply online or in health food stores.
Whether it's due to parasites, or just getting into the garbage, dogs with vomiting and diarrhea will lose a lot of excess water. It is normal, therefore, for them to try to drink more to make up for these losses.
