Alphas don't go into heat in the sense that they will be able to become impregnated, will produce slick, or have an intense burning sensation from inside of them the way that an omega's heat is characterised as.

A real Omega lume will be very bright and vivid, whereas a fake will be far more dull. A fake Omega would have a very sparce thin line of lume.
Purring: Purring is a low, continuous vibratory sound made for a multitude of reasons. Omegas purr when they are content, relaxed, nursing their children, or are in a good mood.
It's a self-induced coma-like state that an omega puts themselves in when extremely scared or hurt. It can be life threatening if left alone for too long and usually only a mate or someone very close to the omega can pull them out.
Omegas, beta females, and occasionally alpha females can become pregnant. Pregnancy generally lasts close to 40 weeks. In alpha-omega pairs, multiple births are significantly more common. When pregnant, omegas self-isolate and become very hostile toward everyone but close family and their mate.
See, when an Alpha and an Omega bite each other what they're doing is introducing a set of proteins to their mate's body through their saliva. Which will in turn mingle with their own proteins/natural scent and signals to their brains that this is their mate.
Ruts have a similar purpose to sexual heats, to find a mate and breed. Natural ruts last 1-4 days. When: Natural ruts occur 2-3 times a year in alphas of all ages.

Omegaverse – An alternate universe used in fiction where there exists an alpha/beta/omega hierarchy in society. Usually this hierarchy exists without the characters being a shifter of some sort but it can include shifters depending on the author. It's also possible for males to become pregnant in this universe.

In omegaverse, omegas produce pheromones much like cats or dogs (or wolves). When the omega is in heat and receptive to mating, they release pheromones. Alphas also release pheromones, usually in response to the omega. In some cases, alpha pheromones can induce a heat in an omega.
Although omegas have submissive traits and instincts, they do not dictate their entire being and personality. Children used to be taught that omegas need intense submission to live and are bound by it, but misinformation like that was just used to control omegas.
This is called 'Self Transcendence' - it is the hidden and last level to be added to Maslow's Hierarchy where one goes beyond self through service, guidance and growth of others (as depicted below). In essence, with wisdom, time and experience Alphas become Omegas.
Omega Werewolves are humanoid carnivores. In their werewolf form, their bodies change rapidly, changing into a fitting definition of predators. Their nails increase to sharp, long claws, fangs increase in size and eyes resemble those of a wolf rather than of a human.
