In most cases, breast augmentation with any type of implant may have temporary nipple numbness that gets better in a few weeks. It is rare for the numbness to be permanent. Once things are healed, you may do what ever you like with your nipples.

Your First Week after Augmentation

In some cases, patients are asked to go without any type of support. Usually, this is because it promotes a faster dropping of the implants in patients with tighter skin. Once the implants have dropped sufficiently, a bra is recommended.
After surgery, the implants tend to ride hide and appear small due to the patient's skin tightness in the area. There is tightness because the implants increase dimension to breast tissue causing the skin to compress the implant's shape and size.
'Drop' refers to the breast implants settling into a more natural position as the muscles relax and any swelling and inflammation subside. The 'fluff' describes how the implants fill the lower pole of the breast as this relaxation occurs and appear softer and fuller like newly-plumped cushions.
Breast implants come in round and teardrop shapes and can be filled with silicone, a cohesive gel, or saline, a saltwater solution.
