It is entirely normal for a dog to resist having its paws touched, and in most cases, it is an instinctual reaction. If you want your dog to trust you to handle its paws, then you should plan on training your dog to accept the handling at an early age.
Despite the fact that dogs' feet are pretty tough, canines are still sensitive about having their paws manhandled — especially if it involves toenail trimming. Dogs who've had their nails trimmed too aggressively may react negatively when they spot clippers in the future.
Paws are also composed of sensitive nerve endings and are the last protective layer that protects them from extreme temperatures, such as hot tar. Some dogs may not want you to touch their paws because they have been abused in the past. Other dogs may have had a bad experience getting their nails cut in the past.

Your dog wants your attention
They may raise their front leg and put it on your knee. This will be accompanied by a tail wag and puppy eyes – all this to make you pet them or play with them. They generally develop this behavior over time as your bond gets stronger.
It releases oxytocin which is a feel-good hormone. Did you know that dogs have feel-good hormones too and they are released when they spend time cuddling with their human friends? Keep in mind that your dog is probably growling, snapping, or biting because he's either AFRAID or IN PAIN. A dog who dislikes handling is trying to get away from you. That's why punishing your dog for this behavior is so counterproductive.

Dogs live in the moment and don't tend to bear grudges. However, some factors may influence whether he can carry on as normal after being hit.

That's because when your dog is in that pooping position, she's vulnerable, and she's looking to you to protect her.
The paw lift is one of those body language signals that must be interpreted based on context. The best interpretation of this body language signal is anticipation or uncertainty about the situation. The dog is anticipating something and the dogʼs go button is pressed.
If your dog follows you everywhere then it's a sign that they trust and love you and that you make them feel safe. Following you very closely can be a sign that they're bored, they want something, they're feeling scared or are just being nosy.
