By the end of book 6, Brianna and Roger, after the birth of their second child, decide to return to the future, taking Jemmy with them in order to escape the hardships of the 1770s; a storyline that would shake up Brianna and Roger's arc in the Outlander series for the first time since they came to the past in season 4 ...
As a result, the family would have to travel back through the stones to seek the appropriate treatment because it didn't exist in the past. With this in mind, fans were able to confirm Roger would travel back to the past in season seven as the images also featured a cast member wearing 1700s costumes.
Roger and Bree leave the Ridge temporarily in Outlander
That's because Bree and Roger are leaving the Ridge temporarily. They are planning on coming back, and they're planning on being back in time for Brianna to give birth to their second child.
Set to release on March 6, 2022, Outlander season 6 now has some major explaining to do. In Outlander season 5, Bree and Roger settle at Fraser's Ridge with their son Jemmy.

Because yes, Claire and Lord John end up married in book seven, and yes, they drunkenly (and full of grief for the loss of Jamie, whom they both love with all of their heart) consummate that marriage. And then Jamie shows up alive and well!
Roger is the father of Bree's baby in Outlander
The Outlander Season 6 finale included the lice scene. It wasn't quite the same way as the books, but it was still a great way to make it clear that Jemmy and Roger are related by blood.
In the series' earlier seasons, viewers saw Claire, a World War II veteran nurse visiting Scotland just after the war, mysteriously travel 200 years into the past. She later journeyed with her new husband, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), to several different countries; and also returned back to the future as well.
Eventually, Brianna decided to reside in the past where she got married to Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) and gave birth to her baby Jemmy. However, in season five, the family said their emotional goodbye as they intended to return back to the future.
Following the Battle of Culloden, Fergus continues to live at Lallybroch, and Jenny Murray tutors him with the rest of her children. He sometimes brings food to Jamie, who lives in a cave near the estate.
After being turned over to the Red Coats, Roger was strung up as an example of what happens to rebels. In the waning moments of the episode, Jamie, Claire and Brianna found Roger's body hanging from a tree by a noose.
These stones come into play time and again on Outlander: Claire travels through the stones at Craigh na Dun in 1746 when Jamie brings her back to them in order to keep their baby safe, and then one more time in 1968 when she travels back to be reunited with her one, true love in 1766.
Some think Jamie's spirit (but not his body) traveled to through time to guide Claire to him; others suggest Jamie had a near-death experience after the Battle of Culloden, and that's why his ghost is 25 when he appears to Frank.
Jamie can't time travel in the world of Outlander
Jamie Fraser doesn't have the time-traveling gene. In the books, we find out that Brianna and Roger's daughter, Mandy, can see people as certain elements, and Jamie is water. Those she sees as water don't have the ability to time travel.
The simple answer is no. Claire and Jamie don't have any more children after Brianna. Claire heads through the stones while pregnant with Brianna at the end of the second season/book. She spends 20 years in the 20th century, and she and Frank don't have any children together.
Murtagh is often mistaken for Jamie's father, but he is actually his kindly godfather. He is not married and hasn't fathered any children.
His character comes up in the MacKenzies' storyline. They're in the 1980s, and Rob wants the French gold. He learns that Jemmy knows where the gold is, so he kidnaps the young boy.
It's all pretty bizarre, but Brianna sensibly plays along to save herself, and even convinces Bonnet to let her go home and get Jemmy. Well, at least until Bonnet wants to seal their agreement with a kiss, at which point he realizes Brianna has no real feelings for him.
Without giving too many spoilers for those who haven't read the books yet, there is a storyline in Lallybroch but it's not Claire and Jamie returning there to call it home. They do remain in the colonies.
During An Echo in the Bone/Written in My Own Heart's Blood, Claire marries for the third time. This time it's to Lord John Grey. Why does that happen in the Outlander books? While there are spoilers from the books in this post, there's no guarantee that this storyline will take place in the Outlander TV series.
On December 21, 1776, the house is burglarized by Wendigo Donner and a group of his accomplices. They break one of the containers with Claire's highly flammable ether. When Young Ian lights a match, the house goes up in flames and burns down overnight.
