Over the course of the episode, we learn that Calliope is actually the ex-wife of Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), whose marriage dissolved after the death of their son, Orpheus.
Morpheus, or Dream as he's often referred to, is the primary Endless we follow in the show as he's the titular “Sandman.” But Dream has many siblings, including Despair, Desire, Death and others. Several are introduced to the show in season 1, but there are several others we don't meet in the initial 10 episodes.

Calliope (Melissanthi Mahut) called out to Dream/Morpheus (Tom Sturridge) to help her escape imprisonment. We find Calliope isn't just your average, eternal muse, she is also the ex-wife of Dream. The relationship fell apart with the apparent death of their only child—Orpheus.
Mythology. Calliope had two famous sons, Orpheus and Linus, by either Apollo or King Oeagrus of Thrace. She taught Orpheus verses for singing. According to Hesiod, she was also the wisest of the Muses, as well as the most assertive.
She was also loved by the god Apollo, by whom she had two sons, Hymen and Ialemus.
Calliope is one of the Greek muses who inspire creativity. Morpheus loved her enough to marry her and they had a son, Orpheus.
Lyta becomes pregnant with her dead husband, Hector, in a dream made real due to her proximity to Rose Walker and her power as the dream vortex. As a result, their child is also effectively born from Dream since the Dreaming is an extension of his power.
Showing her unlimited love for her family, Unity takes back the vortex powers and gives away her life to save Rose. Unity's sacrifice allows Rose to have a full life by the side of Jed while also helping Lyta to take care of her newborn baby. After so much suffering, they all deserve a happy ending.
