Over time however, Shinobu warmed up to her, eventually even making Kanao her Tsuguko. She is very happy when Kanao expresses her wish to train beside her, and the two have a strong sisterly relationship.
After successfully defeating Doma, Kanao searches the ground for Shinobu's lost hairpin, and realizes that Kanae's has broken. She recalls that when Kanae died, she was unable to cry, but no one judged her for it.

Shinobu is jealous of how bright Rengoku can be at times. She's confident in herself yes but, she just isn't as upgoing as he is.
Being one of the nine pillars of the corps, Shinobu takes her job very seriously. Apart from her strongest feats, she is loved for her easygoing smile, which she continues to maintain even if the situation is not in her favor. However, later in the series, it was revealed that Shinobu's smile is nothing but a facade.
The gentle giant of the group, Stone Hashira Gyōmei Himejima has a huge body and an even bigger heart. He is very sensitive, seen crying almost constantly, and soft-spoken.
The young Tanjiro is not only one of the greatest demon slayers, but thanks to his kind nature, he's also one of the most honorable characters of the series. Tanjiro not only showed selflessness and love towards his sister and the people he cared for but even showed kindness towards his demonic enemies.
Kanao never spoke before being adopted into the Demon Slayer Corps and continued to have difficulty speaking after officially joining the other demon slayers. To help with her indecisiveness and other struggles, Kanao often flips a coin she received as a gift. She even uses it to decide when to speak.

Not much is currently known about Kanae and Sanemi's relationship. Gyomei Himejima claims that Sanemi had a crush on Kanae, though we do not have confirmation from Sanemi. We also do not know if these feelings were reciprocated. In Kimetsu Academy, Sanemi is claimed to enjoy talking to Kanae in his free time.
