It wasn't just inanimate objects that could become Horcruxes. Lord Voldemort's beloved snake companion, Nagini, was also transformed into one, and Dumbledore seemed to know it, ominously predicting that a day would come where Voldemort would 'fear for his snake'.
Unless one or the other has a significantly smaller role in the films than we are led to believe, Dumbledore and Nagini will get to know each other. From the very little we see of Nagini, it looks like she's at least potentially on the same side as Dumbledore.
Nagini the Snake
Nagini was the last horcrux to be destroyed and also the last to be made. It was created when Peter Pettigrew bumped into Ministry of Magic employee Bertha Jorkins in Albania while Voldemort was still weak.
He couldn't be sure (at that point) whether Ravenclaw's Diadem had been found and destroyed. So the only Horcrux he knew still existed was Nagini.
It's later revealed that Nagini was never an ordinary magical snake from start, as she was once in fact, a human (possibly a Witch) who became a snake as she is now as result of a blood curse and trapped in that form for the rest of her life.
Lord Voldemort and Nagini had a special relationship
As a Parselmouth, (i.e. able to talk to snakes) Voldemort could communicate with her, and the pair often sent each other messages, even suggesting a telepathic connection at times.
Nagini, Voldemort's snake, then eats Professor Burbage's dead body. A story about her "resignation" from Hogwarts appears in the Prophet, but members of the Order of the Phoenix discount it, as they are unable to locate her anywhere after that. Burbage is later replaced as Muggle Studies teacher by Alecto Carrow.
When Harry and Hermione are on the first floor of Bathilda's house, Nagini (inside the corpse of Bathilda) tells Harry to "Come!" from the next room in Parseltongue. In reaction, Hermione jumps and clutches Harry's arm, and the two of them obey the command.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
In this book, Rowling reveals that Bellatrix is the guardian of Helga Hufflepuff's cup (though she is unaware that it is a Horcrux), which Voldemort has entrusted the Lestranges to keep in their Gringotts vault.
He was afraid that the Elder Wand, recognizing his true owner, wouldn't work as intended, or worse, backfire on him. Giving Nagini the order to kill, indirectly would have led him to win the Wand's allegiance as per him, without any side-effects.

"Now, there were always hints that she had been human," Rowling said. "In her name — because the Naga are, in mythology, a race of snake beings.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.
Nagini's Future After The Fantastic Beasts Movies
From that point on, she goes to the forests of Albania, presumably to live out the rest of her life as a gargantuan creature, perpetually bound in her scaly form. While in Albania, she's confronted by Voldemort and becomes his most loyal servant.
The last time he sees her, she's with Voldemort and he has to play dead, so no talking there. Plus, she has to die to defeat Voldemort.
Is Nagini the mother of Lord Voldemort? No. Merope Gaunt is Voldemort (Tom Riddle Jr's) mother. She died, somehow, and Voldemort ended up in an orphanage.

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Voldemort thinks that killing Snape will give him full control of the Elder Wand. He uses his snake, Nagini, to kill Snape rather than any number of spells he knows. This allows Snape to live long enough to help Harry defeat him.
It is very possible that J. K. Rowling did say this, but that she was referring to the snake actors in the movies, not the characters. This is NOT true. The quote was started as a joke on tumblr. Besides, Nagini is a viper (a venomous snake), and the snake Harry set free was a boa (a constrictor, not a venomous snake).
The darkest of the Dark Arts, Harry Potter unforgivable curses are the Cruciatus Curse, the Imperius Curse, and the Killing Curse. Although the curses are highly illegal, Harry using Unforgivable Curses happened, but he uses them once he was thrust into the Second Wizarding War.
Though Harry encountered many opportunities that deemed Avada Kedavra necessary, it remains as one of the Unforgivable Curses Harry Potter never cast. For one, he viewed the spell as an immoral practice commonly used by users of the Dark Arts.
Against Amycus Carrow after he spat on Minerva MgGonagall's face. He wasn't arrested because by law of the Ministry the Unforgivable Curses were legal at the time. McGonagall used the Imperius Curse too and had no problem with the law.
Charity Burbage floats helplessly above a dinner table, as if paralysed. She begs Snape to help her. Voldemort point his wand at her, and a green light erupts out of its end. The light hits Charity, and she falls down on to the table dead, her eyes open and her face splattered with droplets of blood.
The Deathly Hallows Part I begins with a whole bunch of double-crossing and betrayals. Snape betrays the Order of the Phoenix. A guy from the Ministry of Magic becomes a Death Eater, which is probably how the Ministry ends up falling. And that's just the beginning of the movie.
Isaacs brings up Lucius' disheveled appearance in Deathly Hallows, raising the possibility that the Malfoy patriarch had begun drinking too much. The way Isaacs saw it, Lucius was in a no-win situation. Given everything he'd done, the man no longer had a place on either side of the war.
