Dooku Wanted to Destroy the Sith and the Jedi with Obi-Wan But Obi-Wan was resolute in his belief that the Jedi were dedicated to good deeds, with honorable members who were neither corrupt nor greedy. Obi-Wan, thus, turned down Dooku's offer to destroy the Sith and Jedi together.
Count Dooku Truly Wanted To Overthrow Palpatine With Obi-Wan
Dooku expressed sadness at this fact in Attack of the Clones, which is understandable, given both of their fondness for the late Qui-Gon Jinn.
While serving Darth Sidious, Dooku is a ruthless terrorist and warlord, whose methods included torture, murder, and even genocide. However, before turning to the dark side, he was a respected Jedi Master, having been trained by Yoda and served as the Master of Qui-Gon Jinn.
How Count Dooku Planned to Betray Palpatine Before Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. For his short time as a Sith, Count Dooku was well aware of Star Wars' Rule of Two. In fact, he even planned on replacing Palpatine before Order 66.
Did Dooku have a plan to overthrow Palpatine? No. Dooku understood that he would never be powerful enough to defeat Palpatine.
Anakin regrets this decision, and Palpatine reasons with him saying that Dooku was too dangerous.
Bottom line, Dooku never considered himself a Sith. And he wasn't; he was a man looking to change the galaxy in a way the Jedi were unwilling to try. And that is why he joined the Sith and became Darth Sidious' apprentice, Darth Tyrannus. When Dooku became Sidious's apprentice, he was already an elderly man.
Palpatine knew that the only way for Anakin to defeat Dooku was by tapping into the dark side of the Force. If Anakin did this he would surpass Dooku and carry out the rule of two, also Dooku was much older than his master Palpatine and didn't have the potential to defeat him and become the Sith master but Anankin did.
The theory states Count Dooku wanted to overthrow both the Republic and Palpatine in turn in order to establish something far greater: an aristocratic utopia, with him at the head and at his right hand, of all people, Obi-Wan.
His former colleagues in the Jedi Order saw Dooku as misguided but a man of principles, and refused to believe he could be an advocate of violence and war. They were wrong; Dooku had sworn allegiance to the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, taking the name Darth Tyranus.
Like many of the other Sith, Count Dooku was incredibly proficient with the Force, even being able to win a fight against Yoda. Despite this, though, he still wasn't the best fighter with a lightsaber, and his Force skills were not nearly as powerful as Darth Vader's.
In legends, Dooku actually explains why he hates Anakin: He could feel Yoda's touch still lingering on the edges like a distant echo. Vividly his mind went back to their last meeting, on Geonosis: swords drawn at last, and finally equal.
His best friend had been given a gift that could have allowed the Jedi to help countless people, but Yoda refused to act. As a Jedi, Dooku couldn't stand the thought that his best friend was suffering without a purpose, so he hated Yoda and the Jedi Order for that. In the end, though, Yoda was right.
To give a quick answer, Dooku didn't reveal Palpatine because he was still a loyal Sith apprentice and wanted to be a part of Palpatine's vision for the future. Dooku wanted to be his second in command and was willing to put his life on the line to manifest that.
How Did Count Dooku Fall To The Dark Side? Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi episode 2, "Justice," summarizes the key trigger for Count Dooku's fall to the dark side: the Jedi Order's inability to root out corruption in the Republic despite their mastery of the greatest power in the known universe.
Because originally the Dooku fight went longer, to the point where Anakin got angry and managed to hurt/scratch/wound Dooku, and then Dooku cut off his arm and pushed him back. So he's tired because in a longer cut he actually took a little bit of damage from Anakin.
Though he saw Anakin's potential, Yoda could not ignore the danger inherent in Anakin's unrestrained emotional attachments. To teach Anakin responsibility, Yoda assigned Skywalker a Padawan learner: Ahsoka Tano. Yoda knew there would come a time when Anakin had to let go of Ahsoka.
Anakin and Obi-Wan board Grievous' ship, the Invisible Hand, and confront Dooku, who knocks Obi-Wan unconscious, leaving Anakin to face the Sith Lord alone. Anakin gives in to his hatred of Dooku and uses his anger to overpower him, severing both of Dooku's hands and leaving him helpless.
This is confirmed later in the movie when Obi-Wan informs Padme that Anakin killed them. Both are torn apart with hurt and confusion, trying to make sense of something so terrible.
Obi Wan was unable to defeat Count Dooku because the Count was a significantly better lightsaber duelist. Obi Wan was a master in Form III lightsaber combat. Form III is an almost entirely defensive style of combat. Obi Wan was essentially a diplomat before the Clone Wars.
The canonical comic Star Wars: Darth Vader #7 confirms the younglings' deaths caused Anakin grief, self-loathing, hatred and pain, fueling his descent even further into the dark side.
Darth Maul
Dooku despises Maul for being a threat to him, and for killing his beloved padawan Qui-Gon, and Maul hated Dooku for being his replacement. They also didn't regard each other as a true Sith: Dooku saw Maul as nothing more than a trained animal and Maul saw Dooku as a Sith pretender.
As a result, Jango ventured to the moons of Bogden, where he was recruited by the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus—the Sith identity of Count Dooku—to be the genetic template for the clone army created by the cloners of the planet Kamino.
When Dooku left the Jedi Order to become a Sith Lord, Yoda thought he merely left rather than turned to the Dark Side. Dark side clouded jedi orders ability to sense things properly. Also yoda did not believe dooku was a Sith lord.
