On either side of the sarcophagus, a stone pot filled with red flowers stood on a column. At some point after his transformation into the armored Darth Vader, Amidala's husband, the fallen Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker came to visit the mausoleum, stricken by grief and remorse for his part in her death.
Before he could enter, however, Vader was stopped by Sabé, Eirtaé, Rabé, Saché, and Dormé, former handmaidens of Amidala, who refused to let him enter into the grave so he would not desecrate it. However, Vader would not be denied. As he entered the tomb, he became flooded with memories of Amidala.
After all, keeping Anakin as Darth Vader relied on him believing he killed Padme, so the Emperor needed to make sure no part of the funeral suggested otherwise.
He has! Darth Vader's love and his grief was stronger than the pull of the Dark side. He visited Padme Amidala's mausoleum on her home planet of Naboo.
Anakin's Force Choke begins the series of injuries that ultimately leads to Padme's death, and convinces Obi-Wan to fight him. Despite this, when Anakin learns of Padme's death, his immediate reaction of grief and regret shatters everything in the lab with a powerful force shockwave.
Anakin does not have even the slightest bit of remorse. By the end, he feels nothing but anger. Although he feels regret for killing Padme, he still helps the evil Emperor. The film ends with Anakins standing side by side with the man on whose behalf he has committed all his crimes.
However, when they next met in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Anakin and Padmé's feelings for one another grew into something resembling love, and their wedding at the end of the film solidified their relationship as one of the most important romances in Star Wars history.
Overview. After her death in childbirth on Polis Massa, Amidala's body was returned to Naboo for the proper funeral rites. In order to hide the fact that Amidala's twins survived, her body was prepared to still appear pregnant. Her maternal grandmother, Ryoo Thule, oversaw Amidala's funeral, as per Naboo custom.

Long story short, she is Padmé's niece, Pooja Naberrie, and was portrayed by Hayley Mooy. If nothing else, you just learned a fun piece of Star Wars trivia.
This time jump makes Padmé a very mature 24 years old, while Anakin is still a Jedi Padawan and teenager at the age of 19. This formidable time in their lives is when the romance between the two sparks, so the age difference between Padmé and Anakin doesn't hold them back.
The marriage, witnessed by the droids C-3PO and R2-D2, was kept secret due to Amidala's place as a prominent Senator in the Galactic Republic and because of Skywalker's membership in the Jedi Order; the Jedi Code prevented Jedi from falling in love and forming attachments such as marriage.
Had Anakin not converted: Padme would have been killed by the Emperor before childbirth, and before Anakin and Obi wan returned from the mission to destroy general Grievous. Regardless: order 66 probably still would have happened since the army was under control of the dicator in Palpatine.
His only reason for turning to the dark side was a need to protect the ones he loved and to learn the secrets of preventing death. From Anakin's point of view, becoming Palpatine's apprentice was simply a way of becoming more powerful, and all the evil tasks he had to complete were to bring him closer to his goal.
She was recovered from the Tusken Raider camp by her son, Padawan Anakin Skywalker, who returned her body to the Lars farm after slaughtering the Tuskens within the camp. Shmi was buried at the farm with a gravestone marking her grave. After her husband Cliegg Lars died, he was buried next to her.
What he did not see, at the time at least, was that Padmé used her last breaths to tell Obi-Wan that she was certain that in regards to her husband, "there's still good in him." Now, those words are set to be revealed to someone other than Darth Vader himself.
In the main Star Wars timeline, of course, Darth Vader's attempts to resurrect Padmé on Mustafar were doomed to failure. But it's fascinating to speculate what would have happened had he been successful. In that scenario, Padmé Amidala's return from the dead would not have provided the solace Darth Vader sought.
Padmé was born in the year 46 BBY on Naboo, and Anakin was born five years later, in the year 41 BBY. That makes Padmé five years older than Anakin.
Keira Knightly had no idea who she played in the Star Wars franchise. The actress played the part of Sabé in 1999's The Phantom Menace when she was 12 years-old. The character is a very important handmaiden and body double for Natalie Portman's Queen Padmé Amidala.
Leia Organa-Skywalker
Leia Amidala Skywalker (portrayed by Carrie Fisher) is the wife of Han Solo, the mother of Ben Solo, the younger twin sister of Luke Skywalker, the daughter of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, and the granddaughter of Shmi Skywalker, raised by Bail and Breha Organa of Alderaan.
At least partially, Padmé is experiencing a kind of Stockholm Syndrome or more specifically, the idea of equating affection with crime, a disorder known as hybristophilia. Anakin confesses his crime of killing the Sand People to Padmé, and later, she totally tells him she loves him.
No she didn't regret marrying him. She regretting not being able to save him. She still loved him, still believed (RIGHTFULLY) that he would return.
This is the most well-known of the Jedi rules. Love leads to attachment and attachment leads to strong emotions, which are the path to the Dark Side of the Force. Because of this, Jedi are forbidden to fall in love. This, of course, doesn't stop Anakin Skywalker from falling in love with Padmé.
What Padmé knew about Anakin's previous dark deeds. Padmé was well aware that Anakin had committed dark crimes that would've started his fall to the dark side. He even confessed to her that he had massacred an entire Tusken Raider village to avenge his mother, leaving no one alive.
This is confirmed later in the movie when Obi-Wan informs Padme that Anakin killed them. Both are torn apart with hurt and confusion, trying to make sense of something so terrible.
Anakin is a tragic hero at its finest, a man who turns evil and loses sight of what he was fighting for once his anger became too high, even choking Padme with his force abilities out of anger and pain, believing she didn't trust him after what he did to the young Jedi padawans.
