Wearing tight-fitting clothes will not affect your stoma. It just might be be necessary to adjust the waistline on your clothes slightly, depending where on your stomach your stoma sits. Trousers with waistband pleats can give you more room across the stoma pouch area, allowing it to expand as your pouch fills.
- High-Waisted Pants: Many users recommend wearing high-waisted pants, jeans, or leggings that sit above the stoma. This allows the bag to expand without being constricted and provides better coverage. High-waisted pants can also help conceal the bag and prevent it from being visible through clothing.
Try High-Waisted Pants
High-waisted pants combine the best of high-waisted underwear and a belly band. Since they tend to sit higher up on your hips, you might find that they're more comfortable for stoma care.
You should be able to wear either if they are comfortable for you; your pouch does not have to be under them; it can be over them. I wear jeans several times a week without issues. Your shirt choices could be use to hide your pouch if you are worried about it being visible.
Today's stoma bags are made to be hidden under clothes. Whether others see the bag or not can depend on what you wear. Loose clothes, high-waist pants or skirts, and tops with patterns can hide the bag well. Tight clothes, thin fabrics, or clothes that stick to you may show the bag more.
Pants with a stretchy waistband are comfortable and keep the pouch in place. A shirt with loose pleats will fall lightly over the pouch and camouflage it well. Wear a jacket if you think others will notice if your pouch is full. A patterned dress covers the pouch well.

Disability is not about whether you can walk a certain distance or have fully functioning limbs. Whether or not you feel disabled or class yourself as disabled, in the eyes of the law living with a stoma does class you as having a disability.

This could be a mix of a lot of itty-bitty things combined in a gift bag, like; Lip balm, toothbrush, fluffy socks, snacks (if diet allows them to eat it), magazines etc.
What are the Most Common Stoma Complications?
Consider wearing a cover made for ostomy pouches to decrease rubbing on you or your partner's skin. Specialty undergarments are also available to help hide your pouch. And some people like to wear intimate clothing that covers their pouch.
You should be able to put two fingers between you and your pants' waistband. This way, if you eat a heavy meal or become bloated for whatever reason n, your pants still fit. If the front panel of your pants pucker or wrinkle when you put them on, the pants are too tight.

Ballooning occurs when gas expelled through the colon collects inside the bag causing it to inflate. Most bags have a filter which allows this gas to escape. Occasionally the filter will block and the bag needs to be changed. If this happens to you regularly, it may be worth trying a different bag.
