Even if you are a local family member, you won't be able to visit your soldier while they are at Basic Training. And while it may be disappointing you can't see each other before graduation weekend, it only makes graduation that much more special!
Phone use is limited while at BMT. Families can expect 2 to 4 brief phone calls from their loved ones during the 8 weeks of training. Nope. My basic was at Fort Jackson, by far and away considered to be the easiest in the army. The closest one would get to even a day off was going to church on sundays.

Getting That Morning Wake-Up Call
You'll get up at 5 a.m. every single day. Waking up in the morning is an adjustment process that's the same for every single basic training class. When you first arrive, the drill instructors require a lot of noise, yelling and jostling to get everyone out of the rack.
Don't send pornography or 'pin-up' or nude photos, off-color or racist jokes or comics. These items can get your soldier, sailor, marine, airman or guardsman in serious trouble. Don't send packages of goodies.
The short answer is YES! Most people can visit a military base with no issue. However, it's not like visiting grandma where you can just pull up and walk in. You must bring all required documents and be willing to submit to a background check.

The Army Holiday Block Leave is 10 days
The 10-day break generally starts a week before Christmas and lasts until a week after Christmas. This allows drill sergeants and basic training staff members to spend the holidays with their families.
Effective January 1, 2021, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service explains that Army basic training pay starts at $1,785 per month for E-1 privates. E-2 is $2,000.70 and E-3 is $2,103.90. The pay for E-4 through E-7 ranks increase as you go up, topping off a $3,207.60 per month.

After you arrive at boot camp, your fate still isn't sealed. Even though you're now on active duty, Army command can let you go without penalty during your first 180 days of service. The official term for this is entry-level separation.

Army Basic Training Red Phase
Red phase is the starting phase and is typically considered the hardest part of training. The entire phase, which is 3 weeks long, is devoted to constant calisthenic exercise and you will be spending much of your time in the push-up position.
The total running time of this kind of shower can last less than two minutes – using an initial thirty seconds or so to get wet, followed by shutting off the water, using soap and shampoo and lathering, then rinsing for a minute or less.
There was fruit, milk, juice, and grits. Lunch was roasted chicken, peas, potatoes, bread, fruit, red electrolyte beverage (Kool aid), and milk. I left before dinner but it is normally set up like lunch. Every day.
