How to unlock Legendary Animals in Red Dead Online. For Red Dead Online Legendary Animals to appear, you'll have to reach Rank 5 in the Naturalist role.
If you want to go hunting for new Legendary Animals in Red Dead Online, then you're going to need to pick up the Naturalist Frontier Pursuit job, which can be purchased using 25 Gold Bars in-game.
While the ability to hunt Legendary Animals unlocks immediately after downloading the latest update, those wanting to hunt down all of the rare creatures in the game will need to partake in the Naturalist Role at least up to Rank 5.
If you do not see the black box pop up or the white ?, leave the area and camp nearby. Return and the black box should appear and the animal should spawn. Note that some Legendary Animals will not appear until you've completed Master Hunter Challenges (One example of this is the Legendary Panther, see below).
1 Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear
Since the Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear is a tough foe requiring numerous shots to take it down, it is considered the most difficult legendary animal to hunt in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Just remember, if you fail to kill a Legendary Animal, you need to come back after 72 hours of hibernating sleep at your camp for a second attempt. Skinning the Legendary Beaver grants you the Legendary Beaver Pelt and the Legendary Beaver Tooth. You can then trade these items to unlock perks or cosmetic items.
The Elk of the Bloody Peaks is located in Rygjafykle and is the easiest of the legendary animals. In terms of tips, you will want to focus on attacking the Elk from its side.
Just visit a Trapper or a Fence. That's what this in-game message means: You abandoned your Legendary Animal. Visit the nearest Fence and Trapper to access the quality parts and pelt for crafting.
If for some reason you cannot skin a Legendary Animal upon killing it or somehow lose the pelt or carcass before getting to a Trapper, the items will automatically be in the Trapper's inventory after a short delay. You will then be able to use these items as normal at these shops.
To become a Naturalist, go to the visitor's lodge in Strawberry. There, you'll enter a cutscene where Harriet and Gus argue about animals, whether they should be studied and loved or hunted and skinned. After the cutscene you'll be able to buy into the role for a standard price of 25 gold bars, pretty steep.
Becoming a Naturalist
Like other roles that players can choose to play, the Naturalist has to be purchased after a few prerequisites are met. The Naturalist role is easy enough to find and purchase. Simply head to the town of Strawberry and visit the Welcome Center.
