If you quit your job, Centrelink may decide you are 'voluntarily unemployed' and you may have to wait eight weeks before you get paid. You won't have to wait though if Centrelink decides the work was unsuitable or that quitting your job was reasonable in the circumstances.
You need to tell us if you leave your job and get a severance or redundancy payment. Your Centrelink payment may stop for a period of time.
You may get JobSeeker Payment if any of the following apply: you're unemployed. you're not in full time work, for example you're doing part time or casual work. you've been temporarily stood down.
Centrelink may agree to contact your previous employer to check your details. It's also ok for your previous employer to include the information Centrelink needs in a letter on company letterhead instead of on the separation certificate form.
A payment to help students with the cost of moving from regional or remote areas for tertiary study. The Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) is a one off payment of up to $5,000. It's to help eligible students with the cost of moving to study. This is for study after you've finished year 12 or equivalent.
On 1 December 2022, a one-off $4,000 income credit was added to the Work Bonus income bank of those at least pension age and in receipt of an Age Pension, Disability Support Pension, Carer Payment or certain Veterans entitlement. If Centrelink suspect that you are claiming more social security benefits than you are entitled to they will investigate your situation. Centrelink may believe that you have not been honest with them because of routine data matching checks or due to getting a tip-off from a member of the public.
If you have defrauded Centrelink, you may be charged under section 134.2 – obtaining a financial advantage by deception. If you are found guilty, the maximum penalty is 10 years imprisonment.
The maximum penalties for Centrelink Fraud is 10 years imprisonment for offences of obtaining property and obtaining a financial advantage by deception and 5 years imprisonment for an offence of general dishonesty.

You must tell us about any lump sum you get, even if you think it's exempt from the income test.

The bonus will be paid to workers providing care and support in Government subsidised home care and to residential aged care workers. The payments will be for clinical care workers and expanded to all those providing direct care, food or cleaning services in Government subsidised residential care.
The Cost of Living Payment is a $250 one-off payment to help with the cost of living. The Cost of Living Payment is not taxable, and you don't need to report it as income.
