You can taste the alcohol like with any rum but its hidden really well for a 47 percent alcohol content drink. It goes down really smoothly and I prefer to drink it straight although there are a couple mixers it works well in like with coke. The whole Kraken aesthetic is really fun too.
When taken on its own merits, The Kraken still comes up a little short. All that alcohol seems to throw things off-balance. If there are spices here besides cinnamon, they're tough to taste, and the dominant flavor is burnt caramel or charred wood.
