if you are heading on a ride that you worry may make you, or your child, lose your lunch- Ziploc bags are great to have on hand. Not only are they a bag to throw up in but they seal shut to keep the smell and mess off of others. For this I strongly suggest a slightly larger, freezer bag since they are thicker.

Plastic Storage Bags – All sizes and shapes come in useful for keeping things organized, dry, and safe. The snack-size ones are particularly useful in Park bags (like keeping your phone dry on Splash Mountain!). Keep a few clean, empty ones in your bag; you never know when you might need them.

With the exception of a couple attractions, every ride at Disney will have a small pouch for you to stow your backpack, or space at your feet. Your trusty bag can take on all the adventures Disney has to offer with you!
You are permitted to bring bottled water into the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Water Parks, as long as it isn't in a glass container. I usually throw one in my bag for the day as it is very important to stay hydrated!
In mid 2020 Disney World did away with 100% bag checks. New scanners are employed that allow guests to walk through with their bags. Bag checks are only needed if the machine detects something. Note: A metal eyeglass case, umbrellas, metal water bottles, and baby squeeze pouches can set it off the scanner.

Disney parks don't allow costumes or masks for anyone 14 or older, except at certain special events. Because the company has its own costumed characters that interact with guests, it doesn't want those likenesses to be misrepresented.
However, a Cast Member at the security checkpoint may ask to open your bottle to check its contents, since metal water bottles are opaque. Just keep in mind that alcoholic beverages and glass containers aren't allowed inside the Disneyland Resort, as stated in the Rules.
