People commonly choose hoops or studs for nostril piercings. At first many piercing parlours will advise that a stud is worn in the nostril until it heals, and after that, it can be safely swapped out for a hoop. Septum piercings are often fitted with hoops or horseshoes, but sometimes people opt for a bar.
Rings/Hoops: While it may be enticing to get your nose pieced initially with a ring, some piercers recommend against this. A ring is meant to be snug to the nose and doesn't allow for extra room for swelling and discharge/drainage during the initial healing process.
Wearing a stud will help you to not catch the jewelry on any clothing, bedsheets, towels, etc. which will make the healing process go by quicker. Stud style jewelry also tends to move around less, which will also help the area heal quicker!
For the helix piercing, which is located on the upper cartilage of your ear, both a stud and hoop can be used to pierce with. We would advise to pierce with a stud initially as this can cause less irritation than a hoop, as a hoop can catch on things and rotate.
Wait at least six months. Nostril piercings are not very forgiving if you try to change the jewelry too soon. Not waiting long enough could result in irritation, a tear to the piercing channel, scarring, an increased risk of infection, or difficulty reinserting the jewelry.

After avoiding dairy products, citrus fruits, sugary foods, hot and spicy foods, and processed foods, it is important to also avoid starchy foods after getting a nose piercing. Starchy foods such as potatoes, bread, rice, and pasta should be avoided as they can slow down the healing process.
Nose studs essentially go with every shape. If your nose is broad then you can go for a bigger nose stud that has a stone in it. If your nose is narrow then you can go for a smaller stud. A nose stud looks good on any type of attire, Indian or western.
