Once you've left high school and haven't tested for a year, College Board archives your SAT test scores and responses to the SAT Questionnaire. However, you can request that older scores be sent to you or to the colleges, universities, and scholarship programs of your choice.
To retrieve your SAT score by phone, call the College Board customer service number at 866-756-7346 if you're in the US, or 212-713-7789 if you're outside the US. Make sure you have the following information ready to give over the phone: Your current name and address. Test date and registration number (if available)
You can access your Student Report through your online SAT web account at https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/scores. This is the same account that you used to register for the tests online.
Technically Forever. Yes, you read that correctly: your SAT scores are technically good forever. Your score does not expire. After you've graduated high school and haven't tested for a year, the College Board archives your SAT scores and answers to the SAT Questionnaire.

Very old SAT (pre-2005, out of 1600)
All free tests are released publicly by the College Board and made available for download without copyright concerns. Tests based on the current SAT are by far the best to use for SAT practice since they're exactly like the SAT.
A perfect score, in either category, is 800.
Scores cannot be canceled or deleted after you receive your SAT results. However, you can cancel your scores right at the registration center minutes after you completed the test (but this is not recommended!).
The average total SAT score was 1050 in 2022, the lowest since the test changed formats in 2016. From 2006-2016, the SAT was scored on a 2400-point scale. It returned to a 1600-point scale in 2017. The current average SAT score of 1050 reflects the scores of students who graduated from high school in 2022.
As we have previously mentioned, MIT has no specific SAT requirement. But a score of more than 1500 will increase your chances of being considered for admission and getting into MIT. If you have less than a 1500 score, we highly recommend you consider retaking the SAT.
Harvard University's SAT scores for admitted students range from 1480 - 1580, with an average score of 1530. Although SAT scores are optional, we recommend that students aim for a good SAT score of at least 1530 to be competitive in the admissions process at Harvard University.
Ideal SAT Score for Ivy League Colleges
A good average aim should be 75 percentile or an SAT score of 1580 (out of 1600). But the main goal should be to earn scores that exceed the majority of applicants.
If a student is signed in but doesn't see his or her scores, it means the College Board was not able to link the score report and account automatically. For security reasons, a student must verify additional information before the College Board can display student scores.
The score range for the SAT is 400−1600; that's your total score.
The test was originally called the Scholastic Aptitude Test and later became the Scholastic Assessment Test. The acronym SAT no longer stands for anything but is the actual name of the test.
With a score of 27, you are in the 87th percentile of all test takers. More likely than not, with a score of 27, you'll often be in or near the commonly accepted range at selective colleges.
A 1350 puts you in the top 10%, making it a strong score. A 1400 is in the 93rd percentile, the top 7% of all test takers. And any score 1500+ puts you in the coveted top 1-2%! By contrast, anything lower than a 1050 is a below-average score.
One factor you might not have considered is which schools require you to send your entire SAT testing record. Unfortunately, you can't always hide your rotten SAT scores! So if you have some less-than-stellar scores, you might avoid (or at least think carefully) before applying to those schools.
If your score is very different from what you expected, you may have made an obvious mistake in marking your answers, in which case we will attempt to rescore your test. Examples of obvious errors: gridding your answers in the wrong section or marking a skipped question by mistake.
Total SAT® scores range from 400 to 1600. Your total score is the sum of your section scores. The section scores for Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and for Math each range from 200 to 800. To arrive at each section score, we converted your raw score, which is the number of questions you answered correctly.

According to the updated SAT, the lowest SAT score is 400, which combines both the Evidence-Based Reading section and the Writing section, and the Math section has 200 points each. The chances of you getting to get the lowest SAT score are extremely rare.
