Speed awareness courses
Drivers, depending upon the speed at which they were detected, may be invited to go to a speed awareness course as an alternative to penalty points. This course can only be offered once in a period of three years from the last date of detection.
You may still have the opportunity to reschedule your course, but you will have to pay the full course fee again minus the police central cost recovery element. If you fail to make a new booking your file will be returned to the police.

Once you reach 12 points then the court will impose an immediate driving ban for a minimum of 6 months.

TTC National Speed Awareness Course. The National Speed Awareness Course (NSAC) is designed to cover low-end speeding offences detected by automatic camera devices and police personnel. The course gives drivers and riders essential advice to help them change their on-road behaviour and reduce reoffending.
All the police need to do is show the ticket should have reached the vehicle's registered owner under normal circumstances within 14 days.
You can be banned from driving if you already have 12 or more penalty points on your licence. Your ban can last: 6 months, if you get 12 or more penalty points within 3 years.

From the date of conviction, penalty points will remain on your licence for four years – despite only being valid for three.
