Excessive use of fillers distorts natural face features, causing an aged appearance. When the face becomes distorted this makes you look unnatural. And an unnatural look will make you look disproportioned.
When they wear off, your facial features are the same and the filler does not make your face look worse. That being said, if you have lost significant weight during this time or have had other medical issues, than you face may appear more "aged" but not due to the filler wearing off.

You shouldn't get cheek filler if you are pregnant or breastfeeding (chestfeeding), or if you have: Allergies to synthetic substances found in some dermal fillers. A bleeding disorder such as hemophilia or thalassemia. Certain autoimmune conditions.
In some ways, adding volume can correct bony features and make you look 'fatter,' but this is the desired effect in this case. However, 'overfilled' faces or wrong placement of fillers can lead to unnatural appearance and make you look fat.
Treating with 1ml at a time is certainly appropriate for some areas, such as volumising lips or having smaller tweakments into other areas of the face. Sometimes, however, more than 1ml may be required – in the cheeks, for example – as 1ml may not make a discernible difference.

Hello - Swelling post dermal filler injection does occur and usually peaks at 24-48 hours. This may affect your smile. The good news is swelling typically is fully resolved by one week and your smile should be back to normal.

Outside of lip enhancement, Dr. Rose usually recommends that you wait to begin Juvederm or any other facial filler treatment until you are in your 40s, or have begun showing the telltale signs of aging.

Most dermal fillers use naturally-occurring components. They are fully biocompatible and produce no known long-term adverse effects. However, in the short term, dermal fillers can cause bleeding, bruising, and swelling at injection sites.
Different fillers tend to naturally dissolve at different speeds. Most hyaluronic acid fillers used in the lips, jawline, and cheeks, including Juvederm and Restylane, metabolize after 6 months to a year. Sculptra can continue to provide results in the face for up to two years.
Fillers can change the shape of your face for sure. It does depend on the natural shape of your face, the amount and type of filler as well as the injector. Make sure you go to an expert, experienced injector.
Dermal filler will not cause the skin to stretch and sag, once the filler naturally breaks down. The only case where this would happen is if the face were to be grossly overfilled with extreme amounts of dermal fillers, which is something we most certainly do not do at Cityskin.
It is not uncommon to experience a small degree of asymmetry immediately post-treatment due to the potential for swelling and bruising. Juvederm can take up to 4 weeks to integrate, so it is best to wait and review in 2-4 weeks with your Injector at which point you will have a better idea of the final result.
This happens when the filler was injected too superficially. Patient may take notice to the uneven appearance several weeks post treatment or 3+ months post treatment when the body starts to slowly metabolize the filler. Additional areas that can be “botched” are cheekbones, chin, marionette lines, etc.

This may appear worse because there is swelling from the injection. All swelling should subside in about 2 weeks. If after 2 weeks this does not get better, then please see your injector for an evaluation.
