Patricia Gucci (born 1 March 1963) is an Italian businesswoman and member of the Gucci family. She is the only daughter of Aldo Gucci and granddaughter of Guccio Gucci who founded the company in 1921.

Patrizia Reggiani was jailed in 1998 after being found guilty of paying a hit man the lire equivalent of $415,000 to murder her 46-year-old ex-husband Maurizio Gucci, the multi-millionaire heir to the fashion business.
Patrizia was consumed by jealousy, while Maurizio began dating his friend Paola Franchi (played by Camille Cottin) and eventually Patrizia and Maurizio divorced in 1994 (it's left ambiguous in the film whether they were officially divorced). Maurizio was preparing to marry Paola when he was murdered.
Two years after his death, Patrizia was arrested and accused of hiring the hitman that murdered Maurizio. Patrizia's arrest came after an anonymous tip to police in January 1997.
The short answer is: yes. Although how much of it will be fictionalized remains to be seen, Maurizio Gucci and Patrizia Reggiani were both real people—and Patrizia, now in her 70s, is still alive today. But the twists and turns of their relationship are nothing short of shocking.
From 1991 to 1993, Gucci's finances were in the red. Maurizio Gucci was blamed for spending extravagantly on the company's headquarters in Florence and Milan. He went on to sell his remaining company stock in 1993 for $170 million to Investcorp, ending the Gucci family's association with the company.
