World Consumer Rights Day Australia : March 15

World Consumer Rights Day (WCRD) is observed every year on March 15. March 15 is a historical date for consumer organisations worldwide, as it was the date on which US President John F. Kennedy outlined his vision of consumer rights in 1962. The day was held for the first time in 1983 and has been organised ever since by Consumers International, each year with a different theme. World Consumer Rights Day is an opportunity to promote the basic rights of consumers, to demand that those rights are protected and to call for protection against market abuses and social injustices that undermine them. It is not a public holiday.
