Remembrance Day 2013, 2014 and onwards

Remembrance Day is observed in Australia on 11 November every year, the anniversary of the armistice that ended the fighting of World War I in 1918. At 11am local time Australians are asked to pause for one minute’s silence to remember those who died or suffered in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. The National Ceremony at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra starts at 10:45am. Remembrance Day is a commemoration, not a public holiday. See also Anzac Day.
