May Day Northern Territory : First Monday in May

May Day in the Northern Territory is a public holiday on the first Monday in May: Monday 4 May 2026, Monday 3 May 2027 and Monday 1 May 2028. In most other states and territories this day is called Labour Day. On this date people celebrate the improved economic and social conditions of workers in the Northern Territory and especially the achievement of a working day with a maximum of 8 hours.

Labour Day is celebrated in all states and territories of Australia but on different dates and with different names. See Labour Day Australia for an overview.
