Australia Day 2072, 2073 and onwards

Australia Day : January 26

Australia Day is the official National Day of Australia. It is a public holiday in every state and territory, held each year on January 26. In 2026, 2027 and 2028 it falls on a weekday (a Monday, a Tuesday and a Wednesday). When January 26 falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday is the public holiday instead, for example in New South Wales and South Australia.

On Australia Day the arrival of the First Fleet at Sydney Cove in 1788 and the proclamation of British sovereignty (at that time) over the east coast of Australia are commemorated. In 2028 Australia Day falls on the same day as the Lunar New Year.
