Hogwarts has had many Head Boys, chosen for leadership and character, with prominent examples in the Harry Potter series including Albus Dumbledore, Tom Riddle, Bill Weasley, James Potter, and Percy Weasley, leading the Prefects and student body alongside a Head Girl each year.

He and Sirious caused so much trouble, people remembered them for years after. Anyone can be Head Boy or Girl, they don't have to have been a prefect. Not all Head Boys and Girls have to be Prefects first or at all. The books do mention that James changed a lot when he started dating Lily.

As for Ron, Hufflepuff is probably the worst house for him. He's not hard-working (unless he really has to be), particularly tolerant (look at his treatment of Krum, for instance), or patient (see the first half of Deathly Hallows).
It never really was forbidden - just that certain places like the chamber there and the Hogsmeade secret entrance were the only things there. It was forbidden during Harry's first year of Hogwarts. It was out of bounds to everyone that did not wish to die a most painful death.
At the end before Harry goes to get the stone, Hermione says "Books, cleverness, there are far more important things like bravery". Something to that extent. She may have been very brainy, but she valued Gryfindor's attributes more than Ravenclaws.
Hufflepuff is often considered the worst house at Hogwarts because it hasn't contributed as much to magic as other houses, except for a few exceptions like Newt Scamander. Hufflepuffs are known for their hard work but it rarely leads to major magical discoveries.
Harry misinterprets Tonks's behavior to be about Sirius because that's how he was feeling. But Tonks was depressed because she'd been rejected by Lupin.
During their seventh year, James matured somewhat, proving himself to be responsible and brave. However, it is implied that he still had the desire to bully Snape, but was willing to stop actually doing it for Lily's sake. This led to her agreeing to go out with him; gaining genuine affection for him in the process.
Page 394 in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban refers to Professor Snape telling the class to turn to that page in their Defense Against the Dark Arts (DADA) textbook, which is about werewolves, a deliberate hint that the substitute teacher, Professor Lupin, is one himself, a secret Snape was trying to expose. While the specific text varies slightly by edition, it introduces the topic of werewolves as nocturnal beasts, contrasting with the Red Caps and Hinky-Punks they were learning about, to reveal Lupin's true nature.
He was talking about Voldemort thinking the prophecy meant Harry. Snape didn't know that when he repeated the prophecy to Voldemort that it would put Lily in danger. So he went to Dumbledore to ask him to protect Lily. It was Snape who told Voldemort about a baby boy who would grow up and be a threat to him.

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Slughorn briefly appears with other teachers assembling to fight Death Eaters. As Snape is now Headmaster, Slughorn has again assumed the post of Head of Slytherin.
McGonagall was a Hatstall
Yep, the Sorting Hat nearly didn't place McGonagall in the house of courage and chivalry but thought the house of wit and wisdom, Ravenclaw, might have been where she belonged instead. The Hat was so torn, it took over five minutes to make its decision – thus making Minerva a Hatstall.
Her real parents were Daneel and Dean Novak, Pureblooded wizards. Turns out Daneel was Tom Riddles younger sister, Daneel Riddle. Of course, the Riddles were related to Salzar Slytherin himself, and this made Hermione the living heir of Slytherin. The problem with being a female Slytherin heir, is that they're cursed.
A quick note, while there might appear to be some characters missing, like quite a few Death Eaters who you might think have Slytherin ties, their houses were never actually confirmed… Albus Dumbledore – The twinkly-eyed professor was a proud member of Gryffindor house.

Obviously Percy is a least favorite, but I also feel like he's such an important character for the plot of the story. His character shows how easy it is to get sucked into propaganda and do the wrong thing even when you've been raised properly, and how political discord can tear families apart.
