Nasolabial fold: Angular branch of facial artery/lateral nasal artery. In the lower part of nasolabial fold it is important to stay superficial while injecting and in upper 1/3 of the fold deep or periosteal injections are safest.
Nasolabial lines need five to 10 units.

Nasolabial folds
If it's something that bothers you, dermal filler can be used to treat the area, and, typically, a practitioner will use anywhere from 0.5ml to 2ml filler per side, depending on the individual and how deep the lines are.
Most nasolabial folds will typically require two syringes to fully correct. One syringe of Juvederm is sometimes sufficient for mild nasolabial folds. For lip augmentation, one syringe will sculpt and enhance the lips. The change will be noticeable but subtle.
Generally speaking, 0.5 ml of lip filler will provide subtle but noticeable results to the lips, with an average increase in volume of around 5-10%. This amount of product also tends to be ideal for those looking for natural-looking results without too much fullness or volume added to their lips.
The good news is that you can still smile after getting a nasolabial fold filler! The filler is injected into the folds, not the muscles that control your facial expressions, so it should not affect your ability to smile.
Juvederm and Restylane fillers last longer than other fillers. Juvederm and Restylane are currently the longest-lasting and most durable dermal fillers on the market. Juvederm and Restylane are families of hyaluronic acid fillers with numerous possible formulations.
How far does 1 ml of dermal filler go? Traditionally cosmetic practitioners would inject 1mL of dermal filler into one area of the face. For example, 1mL lip filler and 1mL cheek filler, however, only 1ml of filler can enhance your entire face.
While massage can sometimes improve mild symptoms such as moderate lumpiness or slight asymmetry, don't perform massage on your fillers unless instructed to do so by your plastic surgeon or injector.
Treating lines around the mouth such as laugh lines or marionette lines typically requires one to two syringes on each side for full correction. Replacing lost volume in the cheeks often requires the most amount of filler, given the large area. Our patients typically need two to three syringes for each cheek.
Nasolabial creases (dermal and epidermal defects) require a dermal filler injected into the upper or mid dermis for best results. Attempting to fill these creases with a deep dermal or subdermal injection may improve their contour but will not fill in the superficial dermal defect.
The artery is located at mean depths of 21.6 mm at the oral commissure and 8.9 mm at the nasal ala.
Similar to any cosmetic treatments, there can be side effects or complications associated with fillers. If you experience bruising, swelling, lumps, and bumps, this is often the normal part of the healing process. These side effects should resolve within 14 days so the true results of fillers can appear.
How long does Nasolabial Filler take to settle? The final result is seen after 2- 3 weeks.
While it is possible for fillers to migrate, this side effect is extremely rare and can be avoided by choosing a qualified injector. Though filler migration is very uncommon, its likelihood increases when fillers are performed by an inexperienced or underqualified injector.
Botox works by relaxing the muscles around the mouth, but it cannot soften the deep folds in the nasolabial area. In this case, a volume-adding injectable like dermal fillers is often the better choice because it can fill the deep wrinkles and smoothen the skin.
For smile lines, you can opt for hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Restylane®, Juvéderm®, Sculptra® and Juvéderm Voluma®. These solutions are applied via injection along the crease extending from the nose to the sides of the mouth. They're meant to fill in the creases.
The Good: Patients who experience strange side effects such as having a weird smile or a “Joker” smile after lip injections can rest assured knowing that this is a common side effect, as a result of swelling after the procedure. Wait up to a week before worrying about your weird smile.
Con: Potential Side Effects
Patients usually experience minor bruising for 24 hours to several days. Other symptoms include rashes, swelling, and potential infection. Over time, patients may feel the filler moving away from the desired area, or, although extremely rare, develop lumps under the skin.
How many sessions? Optimal results can often be achieved in one to two session. If you require further treatment, then this is normally done after 2 weeks to allow any swelling or bruising to dissipate.
Depending on the amount of lip fullness desired by the patient, 1 ml of filler or less is sufficient. In lip augmentation, 0.5-2 ml of filler injection is usually applied for the first time.
The swelling that can often occur after Lip Fillers can cause the lips to look a little uneven for a short time. This doesn't necessarily mean that anything has gone wrong and it may just take a little time for the product to fully settle and for residual swelling to subside.
