The Heir of Hufflepuff was a person foretold by the Seer Harmonthrep (Ajrand) to bring great glory and honor to the House of Hufflepuff, considered boring and lackluster by most.
' As Head of Hufflepuff, Professor Sprout exemplified the house's traits of compassion and tolerance. While the other Hogwarts houses favoured intelligence, bravery and determination, Hufflepuff house simply welcomed everyone – as long as they worked hard and were loyal.
Their names were Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff and Salazar Slytherin.

Pomona Sprout is Professor of Herbology and the Head of Hufflepuff House. She is described as a dumpy little witch with flyaway grey hair who wears a patched, frayed hat and shabby robes, often covered in dirt due to the time she spends tending plants in the Hogwarts greenhouses.
1 Newton Scamander
Newt Scamander may be the finest example of a Hufflepuff.
In the Chamber itself, we see a large statue of a wizard, which Harry presumes is Salazar Slytherin. We also meet Tom Riddle, who is, as it turns out, the heir of Slytherin. Present only in spirit, he has all the same been controlling Ginny, and having her act as Slytherin's heir.
Harry is the Heir of Gryffindor (though his powers have been bound by his father when he was a baby), Neville is the Heir of Hufflepuff, Meghan (OFC, daughter of Sirius) is the Heir of Ravenclaw.
Unfortunately, that man was the Bloody Baron, who was head over heels with Helena, and stabbed her in a rage when she refused to come home. After Helena was tragically killed, legend tells us that Rowena Ravenclaw died of a broken heart.
Her real parents were Daneel and Dean Novak, Pureblooded wizards. Turns out Daneel was Tom Riddles younger sister, Daneel Riddle. Of course, the Riddles were related to Salzar Slytherin himself, and this made Hermione the living heir of Slytherin. The problem with being a female Slytherin heir, is that they're cursed.
Through his mother's family, he is the last descendant of the wizard Salazar Slytherin, one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The story of Chamber of Secrets, as you know, is that the Heir of Slytherin has returned and he's out for Mudbloods. The Heir of Slytherin turns out to be Ginny Weasley, who is being controlled via a magical diary that once belonged to Tom Riddle, AKA Voldemort.
HELGA HUFFLEPUFF
As a fair-minded individual, she recognized the importance of a house that was centered around loyalty and friendship. She must also have been an extremely talented witch in order to be one of the founders of Hogwarts.
Dumbledore began attending Hogwarts in the autumn of 1892 and was Sorted into Gryffindor house.
History of Slytherin
The Head of Slytherin is Horace Slughorn (who left the role to Severus Snape for fifteen years before taking it up again in 1996) and the House's patron ghost is the Bloody Baron.
Fred was killed during the Battle of Hogwarts. Warner Bros. Fred Weasley was one of Ron's older brothers and twin to George. He was a Gryffindor and a passionate prankster.
Rowena was the wife of Godric Gryffindor and the best friend of Helga Hufflepuff. She also maintained a good friendship with Salazar Slytherin in their early years due to him being able to challenger her intelligence, but when his friendship with Godric broke down, she took her husband's side and pushed him away.
Myrtle's life was cut shockingly short when she was killed by the Basilisk at Tom Riddle's command.
Albus ended up in Slytherin because he couldn't stop thinking about ending up in Slytherin, and so the Sorting Hat couldn't grasp anything other than his thoughts about being in Slytherin.
Slytherin disliked taking students from Muggle families, seeing them as untrustworthy and unworthy of being taught magic, and tried to persuade the other founders to only take students from pure-blood families. However, the other founders didn't agree with Slytherin, particularly Godric Gryffindor.
Hufflepuff is an open, egalitarian house, the most inviting of all the houses at Hogwarts. Where Gryffindor, Slytherin and even Ravenclaw strive to make their houses feel like an exclusive club, Hufflepuff has what is essentially a doors open policy.
Even J.K. Rowling says that Hufflepuff is her favorite House. It's produced the fewest Dark wizards of all four Houses. Hufflepuffs are down-to-earth. Literally, their House colors represent wheat and dirt, symbolizing their humility (rather than the precious metal secondary colors of the other Houses).
Newt Scamander is arguably the most accomplished and famous Hufflepuff House graduate. Despite the fact that Scamander was expelled from Hogwarts, he went on to become one of the most well-respected Magizoologists of all time.
