Persons liable to this penalty includes those who seduce their fellows to idolatry (Deut 13:11), those who actually engage in idolatry (Deut 17:5), those who employ the Divine name in a curse (Lev 24:16), those who offer their children to Molech (Lev 20:2), the medium and necromancer (Lev 20:27) and- a specific case ...
In Acts 6–7 you will read about one of those early disciples who was not afraid to die for his faith. Stephen testified of the truth so boldly that wicked men stoned him to death.
Israel was a symbolic female spouse who became an adulterous woman and thus betrayed the trust and honour of a loving God, who was presumed to resemble a faithful husband. According to Ezekiel 23:46-49, this God ordered that Israel be stoned to death because of her infidelity and as a warning to all women.
Paul was stoned and left for dead in Lystra (Acts 14:19). Josephus and Eusebius report that Pharisees stoned James, brother of Jesus, after hurling him from the pinnacle of the Temple shortly before the fall of Jerusalem in 70 CE.

After the death of Jehoiada, Zechariah condemned both King Jehoash and the people for their rebellion against God (2 Chronicles 24:20). This so stirred up their resentment against him that at the king's commandment they stoned him, and he died "in the court of the house of the Lord" (24:21).

Stephen's defense of his faith before the Sanhedrin, Jerusalem's supreme rabbinic court, so enraged his Jewish audience that he was taken out of the city and stoned to death. His final words, a prayer of forgiveness for his attackers, echoed those of Jesus on the cross.
Jeremiah probably died about 570 bce. According to a tradition that is preserved in extrabiblical sources, he was stoned to death by his exasperated fellow countrymen in Egypt.
David hurls a stone from his sling and hits Goliath in the center of his forehead, Goliath falls on his face to the ground, and David cuts off his head. The Philistines flee and are pursued by the Israelites "as far as Gath and the gates of Ekron".

The apocryphal Acts of Timothy states that in the year 97 AD, the 80-year-old bishop tried to halt a procession in honor of the goddess Diana by preaching the Gospel. The angry pagans beat him, dragged him through the streets, and stoned him to death.
He was eventually imprisoned in Jerusalem (see Jeremiah 37:15; 1 Nephi 7:14), and “after the fall of Jerusalem [around 586 B.C.], the Jews who escaped into Egypt took Jeremiah with them (Jer. 43:5–6), where, according to tradition, they stoned him to death” (Guide to the Scriptures, “Jeremiah”; scriptures.lds.org).

Jesus knew He needed to suffer for the sins of all people. He did not want to suffer, but He chose to obey Heavenly Father. Peter, James, and John fell asleep while Jesus prayed. Jesus came and found them sleeping.

According to Mark 6:3 Jesus had four brothers (and two sisters): "Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon?
A careful look at the New Testament shows that Mary kept her vow of virginity and never had any children other than Jesus. When Jesus was found in the Temple at age twelve, the context suggests that he was the only son of Mary and Joseph.
