Chile is the place in the world which is known for the least amount of rainfall. The lowest average rainfall in Chile is found in the city of Arica. Average rainfall of Arica is 0.03 inch per year. Atacama Desert surrounds the city of Arica.
The Atacama is the driest place on earth, other than the poles. It receives less than 1 mm of precipitation each year, and some areas haven't seen a drop of rain in more than 500 years. Forget “photo-worthy” or “memorable.” The landscapes here inspired Salvador Dalí paintings.

With an average annual rainfall exceeding 4,000 millimetres (160 in), and the highest-ever annual rainfall in a populated area of Australia (7,900 millimetres (310 in) in 1950), Tully is arguably the wettest town in Australia.
The city of Perth has the best weather/climate in Australia. The city enjoys a temperate Mediterranean climate with hot and dry summers and mild but wet winters. Perth is also the sunniest capital city in Australia and is considered one of the hottest experiencing over 250+ days of sunny blue skies.
Australia is so dry because we sit under the subtropical high-pressure belt, which encourages the air to push down, preventing the lift required for rain. Being under the high-pressure belt is enough to make it dry, but there are other systems called climate drivers that can make things worse from one year to the next.
Australia is the second driest continent on earth (after Antarctica).
Is Australia hotter than India? India is closer to the equator as compared to Australia, and is therefore expected to be hotter. The average temperature in most of the interior regions of India is 90–104 °F. Whereas in Australia the average temperature in summer is 86 °F.
Oodnadatta, South Australia
The record for the highest official temperature ever recorded in Australia belongs to the remote outback town of Oodnadatta in South Australia.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), 80% of the land receives less than 600 mm (24 in) of rainfall annually and 50% has even less than 300 mm (12 in). As a whole, Australia has a very low annual average rainfall of 419 mm (16 in).
There are three major drivers of rainfall changes: the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO), Indian Ocean Dipole and the Southern Annular Mode. These three patterns have combined over recent years, causing extensive rain across the east of Australia.
How often does it happen? Proper blood rain, where the rain actually appears red, is relatively rare because you'd need red dust/particles in fairly high concentrations in the rain. Documented cases are few and far between.
