When Should You Visit
Niagara Falls by day is a breathtaking wonder, but by night it is spectacular. Niagara Falls at night is well-known for the illumination on the falls with coloured lights coming from the Illumination Tower, located on the roof of the Table Rock Centre.
Niagara Falls is the least busy during the spring and fall months. School is still in session this time of year and in the Spring, families are preparing for summer vacations, while in the fall they are recovering from their recent trip out of town.
Niagara Falls offers 365 days of year-round excitement; Every season provides unique and specific opportunities for travellers to experience. The busiest time to visit during the year are from: late June to just past Labor Day, almost all the holiday long weekends and the winter holiday breaks.
With so much to see and do, one day is never enough. Plan to stay 2-3 nights to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Falls, exciting attractions, nature, parks and hiking trails. Visit local wineries, breweries, distilleries, and eat and drink like a local.
A: The best weather in Niagara Falls typically occurs from mid May until mid September. Our peak season is during the warmest months of July and August. The first few weeks of September are very nice if you want to avoid the crowds and still enjoy the warm temps.
The best time to visit Niagara Falls is June to August. Summer is peak season, and with good reason: Average highs rest in the low 80s. Mists and breezes from the waterfalls can make the area feel cooler.
Based on this plan of the day, you should be spending anywhere between 8 to 10 hours at Niagara Falls and surrounding area. And you will have covered all the key areas around the Falls, that we believe are worth a visit!
Summer is definitely the busiest time at Niagara Falls, with crowds peaking in July and August. This is also the most expensive time to visit.
Two nights is the minimum trip length we recommend in order to see a good deal of the Falls, as well as explore a couple other attractions the area has to offer. Keep in mind, there are many great restaurants you may want to eat at, some of which offer epic views of the Falls.
Which side of Niagara Falls is better? The Canadian Side: There is no doubt that the view is better on the Canadian side. This is where you can get the iconic view of the Horseshoe Falls, as well as the best view of the American Falls from across the river.
To beat the crowds, some visitors suggest getting to the attraction first thing in the morning (trips begin at 9 a.m.). The Maid of the Mist docks on the U.S. side of the falls; tours depart every 15 minutes.
A: Niagara Falls State Park does not close and there are no specific Niagara Falls open dates. Guests can view Niagara Falls year-round, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The lights by the Falls are turned off at midnight, though tourists can still be found walking around then. It's best to be on guard at all times and stay in well-lit areas in order to feel safe in Niagara Falls.
There is a certain amount of walking involved, and it's hard to judge without knowing your relative. There is low-cost trolley service throughout Niagara Falls State Park, connecting all the major attractions. As far as Maid of the Mist, the walk to the elevator and dock is not particularly long.

Hundreds of LED lights are housed in three locations across the Niagara Gorge in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Together, these lights work to create a breathtaking view not to be missed, and are illuminated every night of the year beginning at dusk.
Morning rush hour is 6:30AM to 9:30AM. Evening rush hour is 3:30PM to 6:30PM.
