“If you cry, you can reach Him,” assures Manickavachagar. Sundarar breaks a promise and the Lord deprives him of sight. Sundarar compares himself to milk in which some dust has fallen. If we see a speck of dust in a jar of milk, do we pour away all the milk?
Even before God became man, it's clear throughout the Old Testament that God feels sorrow, even weeps for the crushing blows of His people. Psalm 34:18 promises us that “the Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” How can you be close to someone who is brokenhearted and not feel their pain?
God Hears You
He hears our cries of unhappiness, pain, frustration, exhaustion, and fear. We can be honest with Him. His listening ear is always open to our prayers. His loving heart wants to embrace us as we cry on His shoulder.
You can use your tears as prayer. Think of a time when you were so upset that you had no words to pray. There were times over this past year when I went to pray, and nothing came out but tears.
When tears come from your eyes while doing meditation or recitation, it means that God is giving you a sign. That means that you have made a connection with the God whose meditation or worship you are reciting and your worship is also successful.
“And He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain….” (Revelation 21:4). Ultimately, there will be a glorious day when you will feel the Hand of God gently caress your cheek, wiping away the tears you once cried.
Praying with the Psalms
Our prayer book in the Bible, the Psalms, bursts with songs of lament, not only those written by individuals but those for use in corporate worship. [i] The psalmists cry out to God, asking and even demanding that he help them.
Crying out to God is an admission of one's need for God. The psalmist declared, “In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears” (Psalm 18:6).
We are forgiven as we accept the mercy offered by Jesus Christ. It is in this way that our natures can be changed. In ancient times, the rituals and sacrifices of the law of Moses pointed the Israelites to the Savior's Atonement.
The gift of tears is one way the Holy Spirit infuses Himself into a person's soul through the action of crying or weeping. During the infusion of this gift, a person may be unable to articulate what is happening inside him or her.
"The Lord laughs at him, For He sees that his day is coming." The wicked come against the righteous, the poor, and needy as if they were to live forever. God laughs, he sees their coming destruction and says, "A little that a righteous man has is Better than the riches of many wicked."
The simple answer is yes, God hears your prayers. An ever-present, all-knowing God will hear every word from your mouth, thought in your mind and whisper of your heart. But there are some things that might affect whether He answers.
Through the scriptures, we are taught that God will always hear our prayers and will answer them if we address Him with faith and real intent. In our hearts we will feel the confirmation that He does hear us, a feeling of peace and calm. We can also feel that everything will be fine when we follow the Father's will.
Theologians believe that humans can harm God in similar ways: They can't hurt God, but can still do God an injustice. But unlike human beings, God can't feel upset or otherwise emotionally dissatisfied.
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” The Good News: Even when you're in low spirits, God still loves you.

Seventy-seven times. That's how many times the Bible tells us we should forgive someone. Matthew 18: 21-22 21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
All sins shall be forgiven, except the sin against the Holy Ghost; for Jesus will save all except the sons of perdition. What must a man do to commit the unpardonable sin? He must receive the Holy Ghost, have the heavens opened unto him, and know God, and then sin against him.
God forgives at the first sign of our repentance, and where forgiveness and repentance meet a relationship is restored. He does not say to us “Forgive your enemies.” He says to us, “Love your enemies.”
God speaks through impressions in our emotions.
Keep in mind that the thoughts God has towards people are always thoughts of love, grace, protection, joy, conviction (not condemnation or shame), forgiveness, mercy, comfort, etc.
Why do we close our eyes when we pray, cry, kiss, or dream? Because the most beautiful things in life are not seen but felt by the heart.
God gave humans emotions to prompt us to do something. And since God says that all of the commandments hang upon loving God and loving others (Mat 22:37-39), I know that emotions help us live in healthy relationships and stay connected to God and others.
When we are suffering, God is right beside us. Nothing can separate us from His love. He wants to show us His love through His church, and give us a purpose through His Word!
