When Teth-Adam says the magic word "Shazam", he is transformed into the Mighty Adam, a superpowered being possessing the same powers that Captain Marvel would later be granted; however, the Mighty Adam is soon corrupted by the vastness of his powers.
Whenever Adam speaks the word "Shazam!" he is granted godlike powers including superhuman strength and durability, flight, and the ability to generate lightning.
Like Batson, Teth-Adam has only to utter the magic word, “Shazam,” in order to transform into the superhero known as Mighty Adam.
Finally, Shazam has a superhero code to hold him down, while Black Adam doesn't let useless things like a moral compass stop him. So, Shazam can only beat Black Adam by using his childhood creativity to trick the antihero, forcing him to say the magic word that takes away his powers.
Black Adam Is Shazam's Predecessor
In DC Comics, he was chosen by the wizard Shazam, who chose Billy Batson to be his champion 5,000 years later. Unlike Billy, Teth-Adam drew his powers from Egyptian gods: Shu, Heru, Amon, Zehuti, Aton and Mehen.
It is known that certain gods of sufficient power, can manipulate Shazam's spell and render Black Adam back to the human form of Teth-Adam once more. Black Adam can switch to Teth-Adam's body by speaking the magic word, "SHAZAM".
Since both Shazam and Black Adam get their powers by uttering the same word, some people think that they are practically the same. However, that is not the case! Shazam and Black Adam are not the same characters at all, but they are related to each other through the Wizard.
Similarly, Black Adam has a weakness to the mineral known as Eternium. A single missile made of Eternium proved to be enough to knock Black Adam unconscious for hours. In Black Adam, the Intergang used Eternium not just in their weapons, but also for their hover cycles.
Thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt, Shazam bestowed his power upon Teth-Adam in the hopes that he would become a great hero, but the newfound power quickly overwhelmed Adam. Adam was corrupted by the power and he lost his mind to it.
17 Weakness: Electricity
It may seem strange, but despite his reliance on lightning for his power, Billy is highly susceptible to electricity. This means that if he is hit with a powerful enough blast of electricity, Shazam will be transformed back into Billy Batson.
Is Black Adam a bad guy? From the character's origins to his motives in the DC comics, the ancient Egyptian has been a bad guy throughout. While the character might not be evil in nature, he is violent, and his stories work best as a villain in the DC universe.
Black Adam hates Shazam because he was never technically worthy of the Wizard's power. Black Adam's origin story has been reworked multiple times, but it generally always ends with Black Adam going rogue and turning against the source of his powers.
He was a member of the Justice Society of America for a short while and has been a part of a number of major DC storylines, including Infinite Crisis, 52, Forever Evil, and Doomsday Clock. In the wake of the recent DC continuity shake-up in the storyline Infinite Frontier, Black Adam has now joined the Justice League.
Black Adam suffers from an overpowered hero that simply can't be hurt by basically anything. Even Superman has kryptonite to contend with. Black Adam can get wounded, but quickly bounces back to full strength. So we get a lot of repetition before the credits roll.
Accelerated Healing: Black Adam can recover from wounds at a much faster pace then regular humans thanks to the blessing of Mehen. He once completely healed a broken jaw in a few hours after it was broken by Ultraman. Immortality: As long as Adam remains in his empowered state, he doesn't age.
Who He Fights. As has been stated many times already, Black Adam's primary enemy is Billy Batson, a.k.a. Captain Marvel/Shazam.
Eventually, the powers of the Egyptian Gods transformed him into the anti-hero he is known as today. Black Adam never returned as the Mighty Adam and debuted as an anti-hero. Later on, he became the nemesis of the hero named Shazam.
Eventually, Black Adam battles the Justice Society, but when there's a break in the fighting the team explains that thousands of years ago Adam lost control of his immense power, destroying most of Kahndaq.
And when Psycho Pirate orders Black Adam to reveal the one person he fears, he's forced to obey. Under Psycho Pirate's influence, Black Adam admits that the one person he fears is Shazam - however this isn't the hero modern fans think of when they hear that name.
Creators. Adrianna Tomaz is Isis, the wife of Black Adam. With the Amulet of Isis, she has power over the forces of nature.
While there are some fun cameos in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Dwayne Johnson is not among them. That's right, Johnson does not reprise his role as Black Adam in Shazam 2 with the film failing to feature an appearance from Johnson in any form.
