Labrador Retriever
With their warm eyes and cheerful grins, Labrador retrievers are the picture of friendliness. That's probably why they have been the most popular dog breed in the US for more than three decades, according to the American Kennel Club.
Working dogs, such as Border Collies and Labrador Retrievers, will follow people because they were bred to follow human orders and they are waiting for cues as to what should be done next. Other dogs, like Terriers, are quite a bit more independent and are much more likely to go off and do their own thing.
Generally female dogs tend to be a little more independent than males dogs and mostly aren't so demanding of attention. They love a big cuddle as much as any male dog, but they tend to take themselves away when they want a bit of down time.
A clingy dog stays abnormally physically close to his human companion, showing signs of distress when not in the same room with the person. The dog may refuse to leave the human's side, watch their every move, and whine, bark, and attempt to follow the person when they are physically separated.

Named after Chihuahua in Mexico and only weigh between 3 to 6 pounds. They are the smallest breed but apparently voted the most dramatic dogs, chihuahua attitude = they want to be the boss!
According to Svartberg's data (PDF), a pinscher, a Bernese mountain dog, or an English springer spaniel might be the most disloyal since each ranks very low on playfulness, with moderate sociability.
Much like humans, not all dogs show affection the same way, with the study discovering that Scottish Terriers, Malamute pups and Cairn Terriers also don't enjoy cuddles. "One thing to take into consideration is that some dogs simply aren't as affectionate towards their owners than others," says the study.
Some dogs will choose one person to develop a deep and trusting relationship with that breeds comfortability. This means that they gravitate towards you because you're who they're familiar with. It's possible that you've developed such a relationship with your dog because: You spend more time with them.
Point: Dogs carry certain intestinal parasites, fleas, and ticks that cause human illnesses. Sleeping with a dog increases human exposure to these parasites and vector-borne diseases. Very young, very old, and immune compromised people are particularly at risk of infection.

Dogs don't, as a rule, dislike men, but most dogs are cared for by women, and are thus more comfortable around them. A single woman is more likely to have a dog than a single man; in a couple, the woman is more likely to handle the dog's care.

Defining the Pack Order
Beneath the alphas are the numerous betas. At the bottom of this social ranking is one or more omegas. Domestic dogs must see their human as the alpha. This means that under your pup's love and affection exists a tremendous amount of respect for a dog to see you as the pack leader.

Perhaps the happiest-looking dog of the bunch, golden retrievers are cheerful, fun-loving, caring, affectionate, great with kids and intelligent.
