YSK that spraying flies with windex will knock them out of the air rather quickly, allowing you to easily get rid of them. Plus, you can clean your windows at the same time. Other things that work: water in a spray bottle is about as effective.
Because Windex doesn't work as a repellent, it's no more effective at getting rid of the occasional bug than using a broom to shoo the critter outdoors or a paper towel to squish it.

Mix 2 tablespoons of dish soap in a spray bottle and fill with water. The soap will clog their spiracles, the pores that they breathe through, and will kill them almost immediately.

Cinnamon – use cinnamon as an air freshner, as flies hate the smell! Lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint and lemongrass essential oils – Not only will spraying these oils around the house create a beautiful aroma, but they will also deter those pesky flies too.
Killing Soft-Bodied Pests. You can use sanitizer to kill pests like aphids, thrips, small flies, slugs, and mites. Alcohol makes for an ideal killing fluid for the soft-bodied pests, as most of the sanitizers contain 60–70% ethanol, excess of such formulation will make insects perish.
Household cleaners: Most general purpose cleaners (e.g., Windex, Formula 409) are fairly safe, but concentrated products like toilet bowl or drain cleaners can cause chemical burns.
A cup of household bleach is generally more than sufficient to kill most drain flies, and all you need to do is pour it down the affected drain. The chemical is strong enough to kill the larvae, and the rest of the adult flies should die off within a few hours to a day or so.

House flies typically lay eggs on animal feces and garbage. White, legless maggots (the larval stage) hatch from the eggs and grow to about ½ inch. When fully grown, maggots crawl away from their food source to undergo the pupal stage.
Even though white vinegar does have a strong smell, it's not what makes your spider problem go away. White vinegar contains acetic acid that actually harms spiders. When you make a diluted solution, it safely and successfully harms and kills spiders without putting your kids or pets in danger of chemical exposure.
Vinegar spray can serve as an organic pest control, specifically for spiders. While it is harmless to humans, it contains acetic acid which gives it a sour taste and odor which spiders are highly sensitive to.

Vinegar is used in many homemade cleaners, however not many people know, that vinegar is an excellent bugs and spiders repellent.
Use WD-40
WD-40 can be use to both kill wasps and stop them from nesting. Wasps are territorial, so will return to the same nesting spot every year. To keep wasps from returning, spray any former wasp next spots with WD-40. Apply it liberally underneath gutters, and anywhere you have spotted wasps congregating.
