Most patients can go home the same day. You may have increased cramping and vaginal bleeding for a day or two after the procedure. You may experience gas pains for about a day or so due to gas administered during the procedure. This may extend into your upper abdomen and shoulder.
After nasal polyp removal, you can usually return to work within one week and all regular activities after three weeks. However, it may take a month or two for you to feel completely normal again, and you'll need to attend regular doctor's visits for at least three to four months after surgery.

Avoid heavy lifting or strenuous activity. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery for 24 hours. Even if you feel OK, sedatives can slow reaction times and take 24 hours to fully clear your body. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours as it can amplify the effects of any sedatives in your blood.
A person may feel pressure or pulling during the procedure, but they should feel no pain. Depending on the location of the polyp and other factors, a doctor may give the person pain-blocking medication before, during, or after the procedure.
What Are the Risks of Polyp Removal? Polyp removal (or polypectomy) during colonoscopy is a routine outpatient procedure. Possible complications, which are uncommon, include bleeding from the polypectomy site and perforation (a hole or tear) of the colon.
Having a bath or shower after the procedure is safe. Avoid sexual intercourse until the bleeding has stopped. You should be physically fine to return to normal exercise and work as soon as you feel well, but you may find you need a little extra time off to recover.

This is a rough way to do it, but yes, you will have a very temporary weight loss of one to three pounds typically. But, just as with your bowel habits, these few pounds will return as well once you resume your normal diet.
You can start eating regular foods the next day. Keep eating light meals if you are not able to pass gas and still feel bloated. For the first 24 hours after your procedure: Do not drink alcohol.
Your doctor can't usually tell, simply by looking at a polyp during a colonoscopy, if it's cancerous. But if a polyp is found during your colonoscopy, your doctor will remove it and send it to a lab for a biopsy to check for cancerous or precancerous cells.
If the colonoscopy finds one or two small polyps (5 mm in diameter or smaller), you are considered at relatively low risk. Most people will not have to return for a follow-up colonoscopy for at least five years, and possibly longer.
