Right above the eyebrows and in between the eyes is called the frown lines. According to the recommendations, this requires 20 units. And finally, for the lines further up the forehead, which we just refer to as forehead lines, it takes 20 units of Botox. That's a total of 64 units to treat all three areas.
Botox Dosing per Treatment Area
Twenty units in this area is an adequate dose for many people, however, if the muscle is very long and strong a 20-unit dose isn't going to be enough to provide optimal results. Not only will under-dosing a muscle not give great results but it will also not last 3-4 months as it should.
A forehead botox injection can require between 10 to 50 units needed in the forehead depending on the severity of your wrinkles. Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox suggests the amount of units that's recommended in the “five” sites of the forehead is 4 units.
Most people that get 20 units of Botox for their frown lines enjoy their Botox results for three to four months. For some it's shorter and for others it's longer. You'll really only know for yourself after having a Botox treatment. It also makes sense that if you get a lower dose of Botox, it won't last as long.
Although it varies from patient-to-patient, here's generally what is needed for each treatment area: Forehead: 20 units. Glabellar Lines: 20 units (frown lines between the eyes) Lateral Canthal Lines: 24 units (crow's feet)
Marionette Lines
They appear as sagging skin due to the loss of collagen and elasticity from aging. Botox can help improve the appearance of these lines by injecting at least 2 to 5 units for each side.
Treatment plans are customized based on each patient's clinical examination and aesthetic concerns. Between 4-8 units may be used for elevation of the outer brow and generally between 20-30 units or so to treat the glabellar area for a Botox brow lift.
The results from Botox last anywhere between 2-6 months; the average result lasts about 3-4 months. Why does Botox eventually stop working? Your body makes new neurotransmitters all the time, so the “blocking” effect of Botox gradually wears off as these chemicals start circulating in your body again.
Exercising – Exercising increases the blood supply to all your muscles including your facial muscles and so this can result your Botox to wear off faster.
Injecting Botox under the eyes is not an approved use. Botox is intended to reduce the appearance of wrinkles in areas where there is significant muscle movement. It may be less effective when injected under the eyes than when used in the forehead, for example.
While many patients notice fewer wrinkles in as little as 48 hours, it is normal to take up to 10 days for full effects to realize. In other words, you may need to be patient. If it has been more than 2 weeks and you are still not seeing the results you expect, consult with your provider.
Typically for women, 10-30 units of Botox are injected into the forehead. To determine your precise unit needs, schedule a consultation with your plastic surgeon. Expect to plan follow-up visits every 3-6 months for touch-ups.
For example, Botox can take anywhere from three to eight days for patients to notice results. For areas such as the glabella (the area between your eyebrows) and crow's feet, it may take only three days for results. It may take up to eight days for more advanced areas, such as the forehead and frown lines.
Botox wearing off at six weeks is a little earlier than expected and there may be several reasons for this. Receiving too little Botox or not having the Botox injected directly into the muscle belly may result in shorter lengths of effect.
On average, Botox lasts three to six months.
Some patient experience shorter results in the 2-month range. It's not uncommon for first-timers to experience a shorter result the first time and a longer result the second time. Regular users may notice the results last longer over time because the muscles are shrinking.
When people see lines forming after BOTOX wears off, they assume treatment made their wrinkles worse. Actually, your face simply returns back to its natural state. No new wrinkles or lines are ever caused by these injections.

A Botox touch-up may be necessary after two months if the injectable's effects have worn off. The effects of Botox will disappear faster than expected due to several factors. If a patient's Botox dosage is insufficient, their Botox treatment is unlikely to last as long as anticipated.
