These three powerful morning prayers are the prayers of thanksgiving, the Lord's Prayer, and the prayer of Jabez. Jesus taught his disciples how to pray, the Bible tells us to enter his gates with thanksgiving, and Jabez prayed to God and God granted him his request.

The last rites, also known as the Commendation of the Dying, are the last prayers and ministrations given to an individual of Christian faith, when possible, shortly before death. They may be administered to those awaiting execution, mortally injured, or terminally ill.
Let us pray. God of love, welcome into your presence your son/daughter N., whom you have called from this life. There really are no “wrong words” to say but do avoid using clichés that sound trite or impersonal, such as “we all have to die someday”. Use your own thoughts and feelings if you are close to this person. Let them know how much you think about them and how much you have benefitted from knowing them.
I commend you, my dear brother/sister, to almighty God, and entrust you to your Creator. May you return to Him who formed you from the dust of the earth. May holy Mary, the angels, and all the saints come to meet you as you go forth from this life. May Christ who was crucified for you bring you freedom and peace.
