To screenshot an email on Android, open the email and press the Power + Volume Down buttons together, or hold the Power button and tap "Screenshot" from the menu; for long emails, use the "Scroll Capture" option that appears to get the whole message in one image. Screenshots are saved to your Gallery or Photos app, usually in a "Screenshots" folder, and you can often tap a preview to edit or share.
Take a screenshot
Open the Gmail app and navigate to the email you want to capture. Press the Power + Volume Down buttons simultaneously to take a screenshot. If the email is lengthy, you'll see a “Scroll capture” option at the bottom (usually labeled "Capture more"). Tap it to continue capturing more of the email.
Generally, capturing screenshots of publicly available information or content you have legitimate access to is legal. However, if the screenshots were obtained by tricking a user into accepting a friend request from counsel or a fake profile, the ethics of the evidence could be called into question.
With the email you'd like to capture open, first press Command + Shift + S on Mac or Ctrl + Shift + S on Windows.
To open the MSG file in Microsoft Outlook, double-tap on it. Then, to take a screenshot, use Ctrl + Print Screen. To paste the screenshot, launch Paint and hit Ctrl + V. Choose File > Save As > JPEG Picture from Paint after that.
On my phone, which is Android, you can just press any screen with three fingers at once and it will take a screenshot. Sometimes a bit of care is required for the finger placement to avoid the open screen recording an action, but that can generally be avoided.
You should be able to take screenshots on most Android devices by holding down the 'Power' and 'Volume down' buttons.
Depending on your hardware, you may use the Windows Logo Key + PrtScn button as a shortcut for print screen. If your device does not have the PrtScn button, you may use Fn + Windows logo key + Space Bar to take a screenshot, which can then be printed.
Press Ctrl + PrtSc keys. The entire screen changes to gray including the open menu. Select Mode, or in earlier versions of Windows, select the arrow next to the New button. Select the kind of snip you want, and then select the area of the screen capture that you want to capture.
Once you take a screenshot with the built-in Screenshot app, it will automatically save to your desktop. This makes it convenient for people with clutter-free desktops, but we all know that is rare!
Use these shortcut keys for a screenshot on a laptop. Press 'PrtSc' or 'Windows key + Shift + S' for Snip and Sketch. Press 'Alt + PrtSc' for the active window. Press 'Windows key + PrtSc' for the entire screen.
Use button combinations
Press and hold the Power/Side button and Volume Down button simultaneously, then release them after a brief moment. The screen will flash to indicate a successful capture.
