Fear of God may refer to fear itself, but more often to a sense of awe, and submission to, a deity. People subscribing to popular monotheistic religions for instance, might fear Hell and divine judgment, or submit to God's omnipotence.
Learn to trust the Lord daily - When you are fearful, confess it as sin and ask God to help you walk in His peace. He is your refuge. “Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge” (Proverbs 14:26).

The “fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” relates more to respect and reverence for God than actual fear in its modern definition. Fearing God is knowing God, and this is where true wisdom lies. Proverbs also teaches us that people must submit to God's will. By doing so, we acquire wisdom.
