Yes, most lizards have teeth, though their appearance, attachment, and function vary widely depending on diet, ranging from simple points for gripping to complex shapes for crushing, and they often have different attachment types like acrodont (on bone crest) or pleurodont (inner jaw), with some teeth being continuously replaced. They use these teeth primarily for grasping, tearing, and breaking food, not for chewing like mammals.
Immediate sensation: sharp pinch, brief pain, sometimes a scratchy or tearing feeling for larger species. Bleeding: minimal for small lizards; larger lizards can cause deeper cuts and more bleeding. Pain and swelling: usually mild and short-lived; larger bites can be more painful and swell for a few days.
