' In the 1960s, the CIA spent $15 million on a project called Acoustic Kitty, where agents tried to train a cat to be a spy. They inserted a listening device into the cat's ears and tried to get him to sit near the people they wanted to spy on, who were on a park bench.
The CIA has employed several animals — or imitations of animals — for intelligence collection purposes throughout the years, including fish, rats, cats, dolphins, birds, and even insects.
“Operation Acoustic Kitty” was a secret plan to turn cats into portable spying devices. However, the CIA only ever produced one Acoustic Kitty because it abandoned the project after a test with this cat went horribly wrong.

In some European cultures it was customary to place the dried or desiccated body of a cat inside the walls of a newly built home to ward off evil spirits or as a good luck charm.
However, the Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) website states, “tattoos will not disqualify you from gaining employment at the CIA, and all professionally-qualified persons are encouraged to apply.”
But tattoos aren't necessarily banned for agents. As Nicole de Haay, a CIA spokesperson puts it: “Despite what you may have heard, the CIA employs individuals with tattoos, as our workforce is as diverse as the nation that we protect.”
1. Tattoos or brands anywhere on the head, face, and neck above the uniform collar are prohibited. 2. Tattoos or brands that are indecent or violate the Agency's harassment policy must be covered at all times while at work, including while in locker rooms.
Combat and Basic Training
Extensive hand-to-hand combat skills are learned, including martial arts like krav maga, jeet kune do and Brazilian jiu jitsu, and you must learn to fight with improvised weapons.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics includes CIA officers along with all law enforcement officers in its pay estimates for police officers and sheriffs. According to the BLS, these individuals earn a median annual salary of $64,610. When broken down by government level, federal police earn a median annual salary of $93,970.
The FBI and CIA don't specify age limitations for analysts, so odds are these organizations will hire you at age 40, 50 or 60 if you have the right skills. Being able to speak fluent Arabic or Chinese or having specialized information technology, cryptography or cybersecurity skills will help, explains the FBI.

CSTs have a minimum of a bachelor's degree and several years of substantive business/work or military experience before applying, and are generally in the 25-35 year age range. The 35 year maximum age requirement can be waived on a case-by-case basis.
There is no promise of permanent employment with the Agency upon completion of a military assignment. However, we encourage participants with appropriate education, training, and experience separating from the military to consider a full-time position at CIA.
The CIA normally requires applicants for an agent position to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher from an accredited institution.

Physical Examination & Health Information
In order to attend the CIA, it is a requirement to have a physical exam performed within the past year and obtain mandatory vaccinations.
Tattoo(s) determined to be disruptive to the learning environment must be covered by similarly colored long sleeves or a long-sleeve shirt to wear under the uniform polo shirt. Must be clean-shaven throughout training. Hair must be of reasonable length without faddish or exaggerated style or color.

Chest and back tattoos cannot be visible through any uniform or visible while wearing an open collar uniform. One tattoo on the neck or behind the ear is allowed, but it can't exceed 1 inch in any direction. Neck tattoos also can't be located on the front of the neck.

"When cats appear to be staring into space, they may actually be detecting subtle motion, as their vision is much more acute than ours," Dr. Barrack said. In fact, a 2014 study suggested that both cats and dogs see some spectrums of light that we don't — like ultraviolet (UV) light.
As well as being a method of communication, staring is also a sign of a close bond between you and your cat, as they are unlikely to hold eye contact with someone they don't like or trust.
If you read the qualifications, you probably realize it's pretty tough to get into the CIA, especially if you want to be one of the 10% of CIA officers who are field operatives. Your chances will be much better if you've first been honest with yourself about who you are and what you're capable of.
