What about cleaning my cellphone or laptop? Absolutely clean your cellphone, ideally several times a day. There are special screen and lens cleaning wipes you can buy that contain 70% alcohol and won't scratch the surface, or you can use an eyeglass cleaner spray, just make sure it has alcohol in it.
Using multi-surface or glass cleaning products is a big no-no. The chemicals in these products are too strong for your monitor. Even regular soap and water is too harsh of a solution for your computer screen. Don't press too hard.
Avoid using Windex on a screen. It's only made for glass, and can be too harsh for delicate computer screens, says Button. And skip things like eyeglass cleaner, which won't disinfect. Your dry cloth will pick up particles and germs, says Button.
If you have an Android or Google smartphone, on-the-go Clorox wipes, Lysol wipes and other Lysol products are recommended for sanitizing many electronics, including smartphones and glass-display computer screens.
We recommend a 3M 9021 Microfiber Lens Cleaning Cloth. If further cleaning is needed, use a commercially available product such as Klear Screen or Glass Plus to dampen a clean, dry, non-abrasive cloth or use pre-moistened wipes designed for cleaning electronics.
Don't use window cleaners, household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia, abrasives, or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide to clean your iPhone unless following the instructions for disinfecting your iPhone. The front glass surfaces have an oleophobic coating.
PC Monitor Screens
Moisten a clean microfiber cloth with rubbing alcohol. Make sure it's damp, not dripping wet. Gently wipe the moistened cloth in one direction, moving from top to bottom. Let the surface air dry before plugging your monitor back in.

Alcohol Can Damage Your Phone
There's one more important reason why you shouldn't use alcohol or other liquid cleaning chemicals on your devices, and that's the oleophobic coating. This is the special coating on your phone's screen that prevents fingerprints, smudges, and scratches.
Health experts suggest cleaning your phone at least once a day as a preventative measure. Before you begin, check with the manufacturer for guidance on how to clean your device. Apple and a number of Android device manufacturers offer similar recommendations: Unplug the device before cleaning.
Experts in the Good Housekeeping Institute recommend deep cleaning your phone at least twice a week to keep yourself and your electronics in top shape. While many disinfecting products are used to clean phones, a Lysol disinfecting wipe is the best way to sanitize a phone regularly, according to Institute pros.
