Of course, if your doctor has advised you too fast for 12 hours it is highly recommended that you adhere to his or her instructions. It definitely reduces the chances of causing any complication.

Before your surgery, your skin needs to be as clean as possible. You can decrease the germs on your skin and reduce your risk of infection by following the shower instructions we have provided. You are required to shower both the night before and the morning of your surgery.
You can't wear deodorant during surgery because it can leave a residue on your skin that's difficult to remove. This residue might make it challenging for the surgeon to cut through the incision site or accurately assess your skin circulation during surgery.

When you drink a glass of water, it takes approximately 15 minutes for your body to absorb the fluid. However, when you're dehydrated, it can take about three times as long (45 minutes) for fluids to make their way from the stomach into the bloodstream and to the rest of the body.
This is because your wound should not be soaked in water until it's healed. It could cause the skin to soften and reopen the wound. Guidelines published by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) say you can have a shower 48 hours after surgery.
Traditionally, postoperative oral hydration after general anesthesia (non-gastrointestinal surgery) has been withheld for about 4-6 hours for safety, in order to avoid vomiting, nausea because of residual anesthetics and incomplete emergence [2,3].

This is because all humans have germs on their skin that may cause an infection after surgery. Taking two showers (one at night and one in the morning) with CHG soap removes germs and reduces the risk of infection. Your doctor's office will give you the CHG soap and showering instructions.
The anesthesiologist may also use medications to help speed up the process of emergence. These medications, such as benzodiazepines, help to reduce the effects of anesthesia and help the patient to wake up more quickly.
If you're having general anesthesia, an anesthesiologist will give you medications that make you lose consciousness. After the surgery is complete, he or she will reverse the medication so that you regain consciousness — but you won't be wide awake right away.
