According to classical Islamic sources, particularly narrations from Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, Aisha was six years old when she was married to the Prophet Muhammad and nine years old when the marriage was consummated, with the consummation occurring after they migrated to Medina. Some modern interpretations and other historical analyses suggest she might have been older, possibly 15 to 19, based on different historical timelines, but the traditional hadith evidence points to age nine for consummation.
The majority of traditional sources state that Aisha was betrothed to Muhammad at the age of six or seven, but she stayed in her parents' home until the age of nine, or ten according to Ibn Hisham, when the marriage was consummated with Muhammad, then 53, in Medina.

Allegation of Infidelity
