Add a one pound box of baking soda to your regular detergent and wash as usual, air drying if possible. If you can still see or smell the soiling, wash again with an enzymatic cleaner—these break down pet waste odors.

Another method to remove pet urine from soiled laundry is to begin with a cold-water rinse under a faucet, aiming the water directly at the stain. Then wash the item on the hottest recommended washing machine setting, using detergent along with one cup of white distilled vinegar.
Before washing your urine-stained clothing item with a laundry detergent, you can try soaking it in a sink or tub with a mixture of baking soda and warm water—although, in most cases just washing it with a high-quality detergent like Tide will suffice.

If this is the case, and your dog seems a little under the weather, then they might be suffering from a bacterial urinary infection and should be checked by a vet.

One way to combat this issue is to make a mixture of white vinegar, baking soda, and a few drops of dish soap. Once the mixture has been made, simply pour it over the affected area. Let the mixture sit for thirty minutes so that it can start to break down the odor-causing particles in the carpet.
