The twins are quickly hidden from Anakin and each other in order to protect them. Years later, Darth Vader is astute enough in the Force that he not only senses Obi-Wan's presence in A New Hope but also identifies Luke Skywalker as his son in The Empire Strikes Back's earth-shattering conclusion.
Assuming that the Empire would try to find the child of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan and Yoda decided that Luke was a prime candidate to be a lure for the Empire, and Leia would be the one trained to fight Vader and the Emperor. At the end of Revenge of the Sith, both children were placed into hiding.
Obi-Wan, Bail Organa, and Yoda felt that it was safer for the twins to be separated in order to protect them from detection by either Sidious or their father. How would Han Solo have reacted if he knew that Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia were brother and sister?
However, Leia's strong-mindedness during Vader's probe denied him the opportunity to discover she was his daughter. That serves to justify Vader's lack of awareness of his connection to Leia, although, perhaps, not as satisfyingly as if Lucas had planned for the relationship from the beginning.
in universe: Vader wasn't able to sense Luke until he tapped into the Force, so the same could be true for him and Leia. Another reason is that Vader simply wasn't looking. He thought his child was dead, and then found Luke. The thought of twins never crossed his mind.
However, she chose not to tell Anakin, presumably because he was about to go into a battle. Anakin was prone to letting his emotions affect him, and knowing that Padme was pregnant would've thrown him completely off the task. And Padme probably didn't think that her husband would be fighting battles for months to come.
Vader doesn't know he has children in 'A New Hope. ' When Vader and Leia interact in A New Hope, Vader doesn't yet know he is her father. In fact, at this point in the story, Vader doesn't even know his children are alive at all.
Leia was facing away from Padmé when she was born as she was being held by a midwife droid. Meanwhile, Luke was in a similar position as he was being held by Obi-Wan. The reason Leia likely remembers Padmé is that she could sense her mother's emotions at the time of the senator's passing.
Leia is annoyed with Han, who insists she has feelings for him, so she kisses Luke to prove she doesn't. Presumably, the scene was simply meant to make Han jealous.
At some point after his transformation into the armored Darth Vader, Amidala's husband, the fallen Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker came to visit the mausoleum, stricken by grief and remorse for his part in her death.
Overview. After her death in childbirth on Polis Massa, Amidala's body was returned to Naboo for the proper funeral rites. In order to hide the fact that Amidala's twins survived, her body was prepared to still appear pregnant. Her maternal grandmother, Ryoo Thule, oversaw Amidala's funeral, as per Naboo custom.
The Jedi Order vanquished and the galaxy under Sith rule, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Senator Bail Organa devised a plan: they would split up the children of Anakin and Padmé, who had died in childbirth, and protect them from the Emperor.
But when Leia admitted she knew her son was gone, Luke told her that “no one's really gone.” As brother and sister touched, Leia understood that Luke wasn't physically there, but a Force projection. His confrontation with Kylo bought the Resistance time to escape Crait, with Poe taking charge.
Does Darth Vader know Leia is his daughter? Vader learned that Leia was his daughter by sensing it from Luke in Return of the Jedi. Vader learned about Luke after he sent Boba to capture Luke alive, but he escaped and Boba only managed to learn his name: Skywalker.
She figured out her mother's identity after Return of the Jedi, when she learned she was the daughter of Anakin Skywalker; it didn't take Leia long to connect the dots between Anakin and the senator of Naboo he had spent so much time with during the Clone Wars, who died under mysterious circumstances on the day Leia ...
Leia doesn't get to reunite with Obi-Wan, and instead, just before escaping with Han and Luke, she sees his murder. Of course, Leia doesn't know Darth Vader is her father yet, either in A New Hope and certainly not in Obi-Wan Kenobi. But for the most part, the narrative focus of A New Hope is on Luke.
In Legends, Luke and Leia do eventually discover their mother's identity during the Swarm War Trilogy.
The answer is seeming, simple: Obi-Wan's self-imposed isolation also includes a news blackout. Not only does he not spread information about himself around, but, he also doesn't appear to take in any new information about what's going on in the galaxy.
Yoda didn't specifically know how this would go down, or to what degree Anakin would cause it to happen, but he was playing a much longer game by Revenge of the Sith, and that's at least, in part, explained by Yoda's Force connection with Qui-Gon's spirit.
Reva knows that Anakin Skywalker is Darth Vader because she was one of his targets—a child—during the Order 66 killings that took place during the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
He knows it's Anakin, and the events in this week's episode of The Clone Wars, "A Distant Echo," prove it. And I think Padmé is savvy enough of a political operator to let people think that Clovis could have been the person who fathered the child, if only to avert suspicion from her relationship with Anakin.
Padmé died shortly after giving birth to Luke and Leia, swearing with her last words that there was still good in Anakin Skywalker. The twins were split up, with Luke going to Tatooine with Obi-Wan while Bail took Leia to Alderaan.
The marriage, witnessed by the droids C-3PO and R2-D2, was kept secret due to Amidala's place as a prominent Senator in the Galactic Republic and because of Skywalker's membership in the Jedi Order; the Jedi Code prevented Jedi from falling in love and forming attachments such as marriage.
