Sandifer syndrome is a condition that causes your baby to have uncontrollable muscle spasms after they eat. This happens because your baby has acid reflux and moves their body in different ways to ease the discomfort that they feel.
We all know that “too full” feeling after a huge meal, and it is so uncomfortable. Our babies know this sensation as well. Your baby might be squirming all around because they're full. Their adorable squirming might be their way of letting you know they're done.
A baby may be more active about an hour after the mother eats. This is because of the increase in sugar (glucose) in the mother's blood. Fetal movement normally increases during the day with peak activity late at night.
Newborns naturally cycle through light and deep sleep all night long. Whenever they enter the REM phase, they instinctively toss and turn or even whimper. This is completely normal; if you leave them alone, they'll slowly transition back into a deep sleep.
With limited communication skills, crying and thrashing about is their best bet at expressing frustration. Whether they're tired, hungry, bored, or in pain, they want your attention because they trust you to help with whatever's giving them grief.

One of the most common reasons for a baby kicking while breastfeeding is because of an oversupply of milk. This is when your breasts expel more milk, especially in the beginning, than your baby can take in. He kicks and cries because he's trying to slow the flow and take a breath.
You also may notice your baby stretching and kicking the legs. This movement strengthens leg muscles, preparing your baby to roll over, which usually happens by 6 months of age.
How is fetal distress diagnosed? Your pregnancy care provider diagnoses fetal distress by reading the fetal heart rate. A low heart rate, or unusual patterns in the heart rate, could signal fetal distress. Checking the fetal heart rate is a good way to find out if it's tolerating pregnancy and labor well.
Don't worry if your baby won't settle
There is really one thing that is most important and that is to make sure your baby is fed well at every feed. A hungry or slightly hungry baby will usually not settle to sleep easily and if he does drop off to sleep will wake soon after his feed and be unsettled.

It's common to see young children body-rocking, head-rolling and head-banging at bedtime or during the night. They do it because it's rhythmic, and it comforts and soothes them.
Milk residue (“milk tongue”)
