Araldite is so strong because it's a two-part epoxy resin, which creates incredibly robust, rigid, and durable molecular bonds through a chemical reaction (curing) rather than just drying, allowing it to bond diverse materials like metal, wood, glass, and ceramic with high resistance to water, chemicals, and heat, making it ideal for structural repairs and heavy-duty applications.
World's Strongest Adhesive - Araldite Standard is the World's Strongest Epoxy Adhesive. It has a high bond strength of 120 kg / sqcm.
Ensure the metal to be joined is clean and dry. Join the surfaces carefully and remove any excess glue once partially set. During assembly keep the surfaces together (use tape) and apply slight pressure for about 20 minutes, allow 2 hours for complete setting. This is a long lasting and fast setting glue.
The best way to help remove it is to heat it, above 70°C Araldite will start to soften making it easier to scrape away. It will still come down to using mechanical removal to get it off. If the Araldite has not cured, ie is still liquid you can wipe it off using Acetone or sometimes Methylated Spirits also works.
What materials does Araldite® work with? Our adhesives are compatible with almost all materials, including wood, metal, masonry, glass, ceramics, dry concrete, chipboard, leather, cardboard, fabric, rubber and most plastics (except polyethylene, polypropylene, Teflon®).
Heat & Chemical Resistant - Araldite Adhesive Standard offers high durability and permanent bonding 5.
Loctite Epoxy Plastic is the strongest epoxy plastic bonder on the market. Its tough rigid bond is impact and water resistant, making it ideal for outdoor applications like patio furniture, or broken plastic mailboxes. It bonds most plastics, except polyethylene and polypropylene.
Araldite® Standard is a waterproof epoxy adhesive that possesses not just strong & durable bonds but is also resistant to water, heat, corrosion and most chemicals.
Soft or sticky epoxy resin can be caused by a variety of issues, including improper mixing, high humidity, and high temperatures. Once passed the curing time, if you observe that your resin remains sticky, it is very likely that you did not follow strictly the ratio or mixing process indicated.
ARALDITE® DY 023 is less volatile and exhibits good resistance to water. It can be added to epoxy resins in quantities of 2–20% by weight. Additions exceeding 20% can cause considerable deterioration of the cured system's properties.
It is suited for all types of applications across the Industrial and DIY sectors and is ideal for all the surfaces such as stone, metal, ceramic, glass, wood, rubber, etc.
Epoxy resin doesn't stick well to low-surface-energy plastics (like polyethylene, polypropylene, Teflon), silicone, wax, oily or contaminated surfaces, some tapes (like packing tape), wax paper, and parchment paper because they lack the microscopic pores or chemical sites needed for a strong molecular bond, making them great for molds but terrible for permanent adhesion.
Araldite 2015-1 adhesive is qualified to meet Lloyd's Register specifications, and can be used for structural bonding of aluminum, stainless steel or fiberglass / carbon fiber composite.
In terms of tensile strength the strongest adhesives are epoxy adhesives, specifically single component heat curable epoxy adhesives. Let me clarify – single component epoxy adhesives have the highest tensile strength often 35-41 N/mm² (5100– 6000 psi).

You should not use epoxy resin when you can't ensure proper ventilation (risk of respiratory issues), if you have skin sensitivities (risk of allergic reactions), when sanding uncured epoxy (toxic dust), for large pours needing slow curing without cooling (risk of excessive heat/cracking), or if you need extreme flexibility or UV resistance without additives, and always avoid direct, unprotected skin/eye contact and ingestion.
Hasn't Cured Long Enough
Epoxy resin can sometimes seem bendy simply because it hasn't finished curing. Industrial Clear is dry to the touch after 24 hours, but it's not yet fully cured at this point and may bend.
How to fix uncured epoxy resin? The old gooey resin will need to be scraped off and then add another coat of resin to the surface. Soft Spots on the Surface: if you end your work with a sticky spots on a cured surface, you may used unmixed mixture from yoru mixing container. Remove liquid resin and apply a new layer.
You can pour epoxy over sticky epoxy as long as:
This is the perfect window of time within which to apply an additional coat. You measured, mixed, and poured the previous batch properly. If anything went wrong, you may have to fix that first.
I have used it as a metal filler in my drill table that had a hole of shame that annoyed me and it worked quite well. In that use however it has no stress at all on it, for your repair I would probably choose Araldite over JB weld, only because I have had some really good success with araldite.
Araldite Standard is a universal strong, solvent-free adhesive suitable for all materials, ideal for durable bonding and repairs. It has high chemical resistance and water tightness. Processing time at room temperature is 2 hours and it is solid after 6 hours.
World's Strongest Adhesive - Araldite Standard is the World's Strongest Epoxy Adhesive. It has a high bond strength of 120 kg / sqcm.
Among adhesives, epoxies rate the highest in PSI (Pounds Per Square Inch).
Epoxy doesn't stick well to surfaces with low surface energy or high water repellency, primarily silicone, Teflon, and certain plastics like polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), which are used for non-stick molds. It also struggles with oily, waxy, or smooth, shiny surfaces, including the shiny side of tape, wax paper, and painted materials, because the resin can't form a strong mechanical or chemical bond.
