Jacob Kowalski's wand doesn't have a core because it's a "fake" or replica wand, made of snakewood by Dumbledore for Jacob to use as a prop to blend in as a wizard, as a coreless wand can't perform magic, preventing accidental magical backfires on a No-Maj. While it looks authentic, it's essentially a magical disguise or tool, not a functional wizard's wand, though its wood connects to Salazar Slytherin's wand.
Given the unfortunate tendency that wands had of rebelling and backfiring when handled by Muggles, this particular wand did not have a core, and thus was incapable of producing magic despite being completely authentic-looking. As such, it was regarded as a "fake wand".
Phoenix. This is the rarest core type. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may take longer than either unicorn or dragon cores to reveal this.
Unicorn hair wands were not very powerful, but they were the least prone to accidents and the least likely to change loyalties. They were also the most difficult to turn to the dark art. They were prone to wilting if mishandled.
In Secrets of Dumbledore, Jacob Kowalski, a No-Maj and Newt's best friend, finally takes a step into the wizarding world in a way no other Muggle we know has ever done before: He got his own wand. It's not just any wand either – it's a rare wand given to him by Albus Dumbledore.
Biography. Percival was a wizard, born into the presumably either pure-blood or half-blood Dumbledore family. In his later life, he married a Muggle-born witch named Kendra with whom he had three children: Albus (who bore the same as his second name), Aberforth, and Ariana.
Voldemort met Nagini, a Maledictus (a woman cursed to become a snake), during his exile in Albania after his first defeat, likely in the forests there, where she was already a massive snake. He found her while possessing snakes to survive, and their connection grew due to his Parseltongue ability and her unique ability to sustain him, eventually leading him to make her a Horcrux by killing Bertha Jorkins in 1994.
Elder Wood. The rarest wand wood of all, and reputed to be deeply unlucky, the elder wand is trickier to master than any other.
Hufflepuff is often considered the worst house at Hogwarts because it hasn't contributed as much to magic as other houses, except for a few exceptions like Newt Scamander. Hufflepuffs are known for their hard work but it rarely leads to major magical discoveries.
Tom Riddle's wand was 13½" long, crafted from yew, and affixed with a phoenix feather core. The core of wand was taken from Fawkes, Albus Dumbledore's phoenix, whose tail feathers were also used in the construction of Harry Potter's wand, making the two wands siblings.
It was made of snakewood and with a Basilisk horn core.

Gellert Grindelwald and Lord Voldemort were two powerful dark wizards who were contemporaries but not directly related, with Grindelwald being the dominant dark wizard before Voldemort's rise, though they had one significant encounter when Voldemort sought the Elder Wand from Grindelwald in Nurmengard prison. While both sought wizarding supremacy, Grindelwald had a charismatic "Greater Good" ideology, while Voldemort craved personal immortality and absolute power, leading to a power struggle where Voldemort ultimately eclipsed Grindelwald.
Hermione wasn't in Ravenclaw because the Sorting Hat prioritizes choices and core values, and despite her immense intelligence, Hermione consistently chose bravery, loyalty, and friendship over pure intellect, valuing doing what's right (Gryffindor) over just knowing things (Ravenclaw). The Hat considered Ravenclaw, but her decisive actions and moral courage, like breaking rules to help her friends and stand up for justice, aligned more with Gryffindor's spirit, which values courage above all.
